Small on size, but big on performance, the Daiwa Fuego CT Casting Reel packs advanced technology and unbeatable quality into a budget-conscious, compact construction. Built using the same, palm-sized aluminum frame as the Tatula CT, the Daiwa Fuego CT Casting Reel employs Magforce-Z, which combines the best attributes of old-fashioned mechanical braking with today’s magnetic braking technology, resulting in adjustable cast control and outstanding backlash management. Also equipped with Daiwa’s U.T.D. (Ultimate Tournament Drag) system, the Daiwa Fuego CT Casting Reel delivers super-smooth performance and increased cranking power. Complete with a contoured, swept handle for all-day comfort, the Daiwa Fuego CT Casting Reel combines cutting-edge technology and tournament-caliber quality into a smaller, more controllable package.

Best $72 plus tax ever spent on a reel!
So I first order the Piscifun Phantom baitcast reel and it turned out to be junk. So I returned and ordered this Daiwa Fuego CT, left hand, 6:3:1. I must say this is one sweet reel, I have fished with it several times, it is flawless and glass smooth. I have been using Lews super duty reels and really like them, they are very rugged and very well built for about $180. This Daiwa feels smoother, cast farther for me, and fit and finish are top notch for sub-$100. I am very happy with with this purchase, don't be afraid to give this reel a try. Edit: 5/10/18, I have used this reel exclusively for several months now and it is holding up very well. I have caught large mouth bass, crappie, catfish, and bream. Largest fish on this reel is 4-5 lbs. The drag is pretty darn good for price paid, reel is still silky smooth and cast great. Thought I would take a few minutes and give a real usage update. Hope this helps someone. Thanks

Cheap Tatula - technical drawings are proof
I chose this over the Tatula because the parts breakdown shows no differences other than the T-wing, despite the fact the Tatula is advertised as having more bearings and metal side plates, something the technical drawings and Daiwa customer service proves otherwise. That said, this feels to be a great reel, especially for the price I paid (it was on sale in the $75 range). I have been using it on a heavy rod for topwater frogs, heavy jigs, punch rigs, etc...with 40 lb braid and it has performed flawlessly. I would absolutely recommend and I plan on purchasing more in the future for various techniques and situations.

Great reels
I have two of these reels one 6.3 and 8.1. There on 7' diawa airdx rods heavy moderate. 8.1 I use for heavy cover ,frogs top water with 17lb mono and the 6.3 for anything from crank/jerk/swimjigs/ to dropshot. There smooth lightweight and the cast like a tatula. No backlash and no movement when setting the hook in deep. I love these lil babies.. I fish alot and I recommend it to all levels of fishing. I have some very high end reels and these work just as good for a cheaper price.

A superb reel; best bang for the buck out there!
2nd one after having such great experience with the first unit. Still birdsnet once in a while but that’s user error more than this reel. I’ve tried others under $100 and I’m sold this is the best performing and quality made sub $100 reel available. I’ll probably pick up another one when it’s time to add a new rod to the arsenal. I don’t see the need to spend more unless perhaps you’re fishing daily, and don’t see the need for the T-wing Tatula at an additional cost - this is essentially the Tatula minus T-wing.Get one; you won’t regret the value of its performance and quality!

Excellent reel at an outstanding price
I am extremely happy with these reels. This reel is my second Fuego ao far.I lined the 8.1:1 reel with 10 pound mono line attached to a 7 foot 3 inch medium heavy fast rod. I wanted a reel that would effortlessly cast weightless and lightweight baits and lures far and get up slack quickly. This reel fits that bill. The reel has a lot of adjustability and handles tournament quality bass very well. My only complaint is the reel is a little noisy during retrieve, but that is probably due to gear and/or seals materials, however this fabulous reel was only $75.

Amazing
So long story short, I tried to save money and went the cheap route using Chinese knock off reels. After giving three reels a chance and all didn’t meet expectations I decided to go with Daiwa. First impressions, it is a solid reel made for some water abuse. I took it out fishing the surf and a couple waves soaked it, then when I took it out later and while putting a flounder on a stringer I accidentally dropped it. Cleaned it with fresh water and oiled it and took it out 2 days later and everything worked flawlessly. It’s a little on the heavy side, and doesn’t fit in my palm like I would love, but for a reel, I have faith in it working day in and day out is priceless after using cheap reels in the past. It reminds me of the AK47 of the “reel world”. Pun intended

Seems like a great Reel, but picture and description a little misleading
I will be using this reel for the first time on my upcoming vacation. It seems like a well made reel. It turns smoothly and seems tight and well made. Small and compact but strong enough to catch fish. The only negative so far is the actual description. The picture shows a right handed real and I was really surprised when I received a left handed reel. In going back and reading the description again, there is nothing that says there is a choice of left or right. Very disappointing. I don't have time to send it back before I leave, so I will try to use it left handed.

Great reel at $75, good reel for $100
Fist off I'm not going to get into casting distance in this review because there are too many variables such as rod, line material and weight, type and weight of the bait, and so on. I will say it cast well and is smooth and solid for a reel at this price point. My only complaint is not the most ergonomic, but that's a personal thing for me If you have medium/large hands probably not going to be an issue. Obviously it's not that big of an issue for me I own 3, but I use them on techniques not requiring working the bait so they're on my crankbait and Texas rig rods.Pros:Mag Force Z arguably the best braking system on the market today well at least the most liner, feel is solid, fit and finish is good. Basically a Tatula CT without the T-wing, Value (if you can get it on Amazon for under $80)Cons:Not much, as mentioned earlier not the most ergo reel, feels chunky (I'm pretty sure it's shares the same frame as the Tatula CT which I also own an it also feels chunky to me)

lots of bang for the buck
This reel is better than my Curado's costing almost double. It fits better in the hand and casts farther on identical rods and line. It has equivalent antibacklash tendencies you can put a ton of speed into your casts and this thing will launch them. I see no reason to spend the extra money on the Tatula it can't be that much better to justify the cost.
