I'm the lock guy, so this is what you need.
Returning it, but don't let that keep you from buying it. Because the problem I'm reporting is probably one in a million and I'm picky. The spring tension on some of the wheels isn't strong enough to hold the wheel in place and the combination can be easily bumped. But this lock follows the master lock 178 design and no they're not using ball bearings here, but it's working the same. When you attempt to pick this lock, you will be up against a huge challenge, because you're relying on an internal spring to apply a slight pressure on the combed shaft to allow Passage through the gates. Pulling the shackle only tightens the grip on the blocking bar, so it can't be picked, at least not conventionally. Only when the correct combination is dialed will the blocking bar be permitted to drop, allowing the ball bearings freedom to move. Furthermore, the fact that the shackle is short, notch locked and held deep in the body of the lock, means that the lock is much more resistant to Brute Force attacks such as twisting via a pipe wrench or pliers. The lock is resistant to shim attacks between the wheels of the dials as well, and prying the plastic cover off to have better access to the wheels, does you no good at all. Is it tough Under Fire? YES IT IS! Because the wheels are made of plastic, and burning or melting them only guarantees you'll never be able to open the lock, and underneath the plastic wheels is brass. In closing, for a cheap retro or chinese made replica, it's worth the money definitely, so five stars. It's very good and I really like the change code slide switch on the bottom, mine even come with a protective screw down cover plate to prevent accidental change of combination. It's a nice feature, but it's really not necessary because the change code switch takes some effort to snap it over to the change code position, but if you never plan to change the code once you set it, the protective cover plate is nice. Now that you've read my review, I will promptly return my lock as defective, while telling you to buy it, because you likely won't regret it. Special note, I'm hearing reports of RUST, so it MAY NOT BE GOOD FOR OUTDOOR USE!

Works great!
I use this for a gym locker, and it's the right size for that (too big for luggage or smaller applications). As far as changing the lock code, it's super easy to do and there's no way to accidentally change the code without trying to like other locks. It's solidly built, easy to read the numbers, locks/unlocks solidly, and the dials rotate smoothly. Other people complained that it's hard to tell which side is the front, and they probably should have made that more clear, but all you have to do is always make sure the side with the pointer line is facing you. It's really not a big deal. Happy with my purchase, and it's a good value for the money.

Actual security from a cheap lock
I bought this for a gym locker because I tend to leave my phone, wallet and keys in there, and I finally feel confident that nobody is going to steal my stuff without bolt cutters. Some reviewers are mistaken, you CANNOT slide the bottom slider and reset the combo without first unlocking the lock, so it's secure and I prefer this reset method. If you've watched the LockPickingLawyer on YouTube, you'll know most cheap padlocks have one or more major flaws that make them essentially "security theater" instead of actual security. This one stands out as it is rather solid and has basically no easily-exploitable design issues like similar locks (there are a few YouTube videos by other people trying to break into this lock, and it's hard).

Beware - there are two sides to this lock
I bought this yesterday. Looked great and sturdy. I set the code as instructed and locked it as a test. It opened with my custom code. Then I locked it on something 2 minutes later and it won't open. Surprise, there are two sides to this lock. I set the code on one side (the side without the Fortlocks written on it), but when I tried to open it, I was using the code on the side with the Fortlocks written on it. Once I figured this out and flipped the lock over, it worked fine. Set the code and open the lock on the same side. 4 stars for the lack of explanation, otherwise, seems fine.

Lock stopped working after less than 2 months
Lock completely stopped working. It wouldn’t open when I put in the correct combo. I had my stuff inside the locker. I redid the combination 3x to make sure it was correct and it was. So I pulled down hard on the lock and it opened but now I can’t move the numbers on the lock…they are stuck on the numbers I used to unlock it. Bummer.

Large number lock
This is perfect if you wear reading glasses for a combination lock.
