Great keyboard for coding
I absolutely love this keyboard. I write code on a daily basis. It is quiet and solid. I used a Sun type 6 keyboard many years ago and loved that. Then last year I was given a Dell keyboard at work and some keys started to stop working recently. So I got this Sun type 7 keyboard from Amazon. What a difference. I totally love typing on it. I tried many other keyboard and typing on a Sun keyboard (type 6/7) is unique and you probably won't find it in any other keyboard. I would recommend getting a wrist rest when using this keyboard.

My favourite keyboard
The feeling of the keys is unlike any other keyboard I've used. The keys are soft but not mushy. Very pleasant to type on. I love the extra function keys on the left (easily customisable using AutoKey in Linux) and the retro Unix aesthetic. It's a shame Oracle took over Sun - nobody else makes keyboards like this.

My favorite keyboard
As I write this the only other reviewer hates the feel and I love it. So be aware that is a personal preference, probably having more to do with what you're used to.My previous Sun keyboard started acting up after something like 10 years. It was a Type 6 and the 7 is a bit different. The Caps Lock and Control key are switched to the more common PC keyboard, a minus for me as I use control a lot and Caps Lock maybe once a month.I like the feel, the key spacing and the added keys, although I use the left (Solaris) keypad very seldom. They are easily mapable but I don't use them enough to make it natural.I tried a cheaper lighted keyboard ( Black LED Lighted Keyboard W-9868BK USB ) but without the separate navigation keypads (pg up, pg dn, arrow ...) I was back in hunt-and-peck rather than touch typing mode way too often.Bottom line: It's a great keyboard but it's different than the $10 keyboards that come with most PCs. The best keyboard is the one you're used to.

This keyboard sucks
I bought it because it had a lot of buttons, and it's basically unusable because of the cheap rubber dome switches. I've never felt such mushy, awful switches in my life. They depressed me more than I depressed them. This keyboard made me want to quit my job.

and both the Sun+Oracle type 7 keyboard's are the best ever produced
Truly, both the Sun type 5, and both the Sun+Oracle type 7 keyboard's are the best ever produced.
