Read this book before spending thousands on a weekend course with good advertising.
This book actually provides a lot of substance to the topic. There's no attempt to sell some other product. It's simply the answers to the key questions.

Basic Guide
To call it complete might be an overstatement, it it absolutely is a broad look at the elements of commercial real estate development, including financing, the GC, planning, equity raise and more. It’s a good spot to start your learning process.

Good read for commercial banking staff too
I am working in a commercial banking industry and my job has a lot to do with construction loans. After working in the bank for 2 years I figured that I need to get a better idea behind the scene of the construction project. So I decided to shop around for books. I have been searching for couple months and finally I was reading the reviews and the contents of the books, I found this one: The complete guide to developing commercial real estate. It gives you the perspective from a developer but it is a great read for people working in the banking side because it shows a bigger picture to you what is the whole construction process like and how it works. I have to say as I start reading this book, I got more clear picture of my work. The book tells you what needs to be done for predevelopment period, who are involved in the project and how to construct a project in details. Now I can gather all the piece information I gain through work, together with this book, I learned really a lot! I want to thank the author for such an amazing book and knowledge! It is a good buy for commercial banking staff especially you do construction loans.

Great CRE guide book written by a hands-on developer...
This a great guide book from the view of a hands-on developer. I bought a number of books on CRE development and chose to start with one written by a hands-on developer. I am grateful that I started with this book as it covered many steps that I have seen in action on some of my past and present projects. I find this book to be a good starting point as a great reference material. I posted comments all over my copy; I thoroughly can relate to the "who, what, where and why" principles that the book is based on. I am still working through the "how" principle.I found a few errors (typos) in the book; but still think it deserves 5 *

A Must Read for Commercial Development
I believe this is one of the most practical books for understanding the development process. After reading this book you should be able to begin your first development. I recommend using this book to create a development checklist. Also I reached out to the author, he actually responded to my questions and gave me some financials info. The book is written for someone who may have never even known about this industry, but breaks it down in a very step by step simple way.Reading it twice back to back is also very helpful.

3 grammar/spelling errors by page 22
Only on page 22 but the fact that I’ve found 3 grammar/spelling errors already is concerning. The material itself seems accurate so far, just not a fan books can get published without catching these things.

Great Overview
Many materials written on this topic that are too complicated if all you want is an overview. This Guide provides an easy to understand format and succinct topics.
