The media could not be loaded. Works with Chinese Knockoff 862D+ Soldering/Hot-Air Rework Station.The heating element is not entirely ceramic like the original included with the rework station, but instead is metalic with possibly a ceramic-like core. In any case, it heats up and behaves about as well as the one that came with the unit. I have read that if you need to squeeze out maximum performance, you can replace the heating element with a genuine Hakko element and tips. But for my needs, this is good enough and overnight delivery got me back to soldering within a day.

I purchased this to soldering iron handle to replace the one that came with my Amazon purchased Mark Ethan Rework Station (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N55FC6T/ref=oh_aui_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1). The iron handle fit perfectly and the station recorded the proper heat without any errors. I was back up again and soldering immediatlely. The only reason for the 4 out of 5 stars is the metal portion of the handle has some wiggle. I will try to adjust but i do not want to damage the element and wish it came more secure out of the factory.

This review is biased because I bought it without looking for enough information. This soldering iron doesn't work for the 862D+ more or less generic chinese 2 in 1 soldering iron and head gun.What it does the soldering iron gets over heated too quickly and the tempeture display doesn't display the correct temp. I will try to open it and check if I can wire it to make it work. I will update if I make it work.

Works perfectly, just like the one that came with the SMD rework station. The only difference was the logo being white instead of gold like the original. Hope I can get as many years as I got from the original.

Works great, expected to need a few since the iron is not the highest of quality. But for the price, it's better than i expected.

The plastic collar nut gets exposed to heat and get mechanical stress from soldering action and can get cracked easily while normal use. It needs more reinforced design or material.The heater's outer diameter is significantly thinner than the Hakko 900M tip it ships with, leaving air gap. This compromises the temperature stability when you are soldering a soldering pad connected to a large area of copper on PCB. It still works but not very well.The iron has 5-pin connector.
