Functional simplicity LG is a winner!
Quality, simple functional DVD player that also plays CDs without all the complicated menus and streaming apps that plauge other DVD players like Sony for instance. Remote control is well thought out with convenient buttons like DVD MENU and TITLE, OPEN/CLOSE and POWER that will turn on/off your TV. (mine is a Visio).

Our old DVD's look great on this player!
This DVD has exceeded our expectations! Easy to use. No cord provided. Easy to set up and use. Great picture quality and a good price. Small and takes up very little room. No problems at all just amazement that we can watch our old DVD's. I honestly can not say anything bad about this player. High quality and so nice. We had it going in less than 2 hours.

A hidden gem - using as CD player
I had been searching for a CD player for several weeks and surprisingly found all players in the market are too expensive, bulky, and manufactured at least a decade ago. Then I turned my attention to DVD players as an alternative. There are hundreds of options so I tried to narrow my search to those having digital output so that I could use a separate digital to analog converter (DAC) and get really good sound. I was unable to find a convincing DAC with optical or coaxial input. Other options included an HDMI audio extractor or even a Zoom U-44 used in standalone mode but these only added more complexity and required adapters.I lowered my "audiophile" expectations for the DVD player and forgot about the digital audio idea. Then after extensive search I found LG DP132H. It was inexpensive and small. It seems to be the only player around capable of ripping your discs to MP3... this is a nice plus because these days you have to have a computer and a DVD/CD drive to do so.So far I have used the LG DP132H for a couple of weeks to play my CDs. It works fine. The ripping is excellent too. I have no complains about sound quality either. I like the remote: it is not tiny as the Sony DVD remotes or the remote of my Fire TV stick. Also I can control my old LG TV with it!I like it is lightweigth too but it feels a bit fragile despite it has metal chasis.Regarding the graphical interface (menus and so on), it feels like a 2000's interface... not an issue though. Actually I don't really use the DVD with the TV, I just turn the player on, insert a disc, and push play in the remote. My player is hooked to my speaker via RCA.I haven't use it to play DVDs yet... given it comes from a renowned brand, it should work.Go grab one of these before it's too late!

Good value for the money
You aren't going to pay a lot for this player, so don't expect much. The disc carrier in particular looks and operates as if it is very fragile. But the unit works well, I expect for occasional use.

LG affordable DVD player may be best low cost DVD player on market today!
This LG player for the cost was a great purchase before taxes under $30.00. I think it performs as well as the other DVD players prices around $40.00 to $50.00. LG does not have a slow motion button but does have a repeat AB button that has icon disappear while one watches and then can see things happen over and over for laughs. The movie about a tornado is funny for awhile as the wind repeats itself and trucks and cars are blown away by the wind. Good thing it is just a movie! A fine remote also with easy to push buttons make this LG model a great purchase at or under $30.00

Cheap junky player
On 3 different DVDs it would randomly stop and emit a loud screeching digital sound. It happens about 45 mins into DVD and is then becomes unplayable. Sometimes the player would stop and start multiple times , and even reset itself from the beginning. What a pile of garbage! LG = Last GarbageSAVE your packaging! you will be returning it!
