AWESOME Product!!!
This is an upgrade from another George Foreman Grill I had. I have had that one for several years. The previous one was permanently tilted and the heating plates were permanently attached making cleaning...well, less attractive than the advertising made it out to sound. But this grill, my goodness it is well worth the money! The heating plates just go into place with small effort of the thumb to pull back the locking clips. EASY to attach, EASY to remove, EASY to clean the plates!!! And the front handle gives peace of mind you aren't getting too close to anything that can burn your hand. Very consumer friendly! The grill can tilt OR stay flat! The dial to control the heat [low, med, high] is EASY to turn and stays in position. So far, no messes under the grill as the previous model inevitably left stuff settle on the underside of it, so that when you tilted it up there was grease literally on the bottom of the grill and the legs. It was gross! But not this grill!!! NO MESS!I also love the plates that are a snap to put on and take off. And they include a baking plate and a waffle tray! I have donated my waffle maker to Goodwill [it was like that other GF grill... had to take the whole unit to the sink to wash and then had to be careful not to get water around the electric cord, it was very inconvenient]. It is so nice to have one appliance that is convenient and efficient. Foods cook fast, so that means less energy being used. The mfg booklet comes with some recipes along with a general guide to setting the grill temperature and cooking times for various foods. I have not tried the recipes but the general guide is helpful.Overall I give this appliance an A+.Update December 2012:Just letting you know I still love this grill! Still easy to use and easy to clean. I am very pleased with this product.Update April 2014:Still going strong! This grill is my main way of cooking. Of note, do not wipe off the top of the unit while it is hot. I inadvertently wiped away the numbers on the dial (1-2-3) for the heat settings. LOL But it's okay because I know where the settings are from years of habit!

Almost as fast as a microwave...but better!
I had a basic George Foreman Grill that I've been using for about seven years, but the non-stick coating finally started to flake off. I've also gotten on a waffle kick, so decided to buy a waffle maker rather than settle for frozen. Well, I saw this grill on a shopping channel, and although I was hesitant to spend so much on an appliance I wouldn't use often, they offered it on EZ Pay - five payments, spread over time. As it happened, they were out of stock, so the item remained back-ordered for quite a while.Meanwhile, I didn't like the way the old grill was becoming hard to clean, and I wanted waffles...so I decided to take a look at Amazon to see what they had to offer. Turned out that not only did they have the same grill as the one I wanted, but it was also considerably cheaper, plus there was no tax or S&H to add to the cost! Since I had a credit in my account from some textbooks I sold, I took the plunge....Let me tell you, I didn't expect to use this baby much more often than I did the old one, but I find I'm using it almost every day! Hot dogs are done in just a couple of minutes - even right from the freezer - and, unlike the microwave, there's a nice sear on them. Chicken breasts are done in 8 minutes...and they're so tender and moist they're incredible! I just dip chicken breasts in a beaten egg, then shake them in a baggie with seasoned bread crumbs, poultry seasoning, and grated parmesan cheese, and have a delicious meal in almost no time. Steaks come out well too, and the lid adjusts to their thickness, but I did find that the time suggested in the instruction booklet was a bit long; this thing cooks so fast that if you want your steak medium-rare, you can cut back to maybe five minutes, tops. I finally got to making the waffles, and they were great! The grill makes two very large waffles; I usually freeze one to have later. Using a cooking spray guarantees they'll come right out with no problem.Clean-up is a breeze. I put a dampened paper towel on the hot grill (after shutting it off) and close the lid; any food residue then wipes right off, or I rinse it in the sink after it's cooled off.Unlike the old grill, I don't put it in a kitchen cabinet - I use it so often that it has a permanent home sitting atop my microwave. I only wish it was designed so that it could stand up on its side when not in use.All-in-all this is a terrific grill - don't hesitate to order this one!

Poor Product, don't buy!
The official reviews for this product are fake !!!After spending a lot of time time reading loads of reviews about top market grills, I decided to go for George Foreman G5, based on its good reviews.I am VERY DISSAPOINTED about this grilling machine for the following reasons:- Poor main functionality: really low temperature - it takes ages to cook even a pancake (max temperature after 10 minutes allowed for warming up.)- Too complicated recipes book: Receipes are too fancy - never get to cook such receipies.- Poor quality: I.e: Chicken brest comes out dry and tasteless.- Famous number of plates: Cuisine Art plates are far better quality and it comes with 4 but they don't boast about counting them. (by the way initially I thought they come with 4 sets of plates, not counted individually)and, Yes! I read the guides and watched the youtube material. From my own experience, Cuisine Art griddle is far betterGeorge Foreman G5 should not even be on the market.
