NYX PROFESSIONAL MAKEUP Lip IV Hydrating Glossy Lip Stain with 12HR Hydration - Hydra Honey (Brown)

Instant favorite, I want to put this on all the time!I usually dislike lipgloss, and bought this because I wanted a stain that didn't feel as dry as some do. But the gloss is also fantastic -- it doesn't have that sticky feel, it doesn't attract hair, and it feels so incredibly hydrating from the minute I put it on. It does very slightly feather into my vertical wrinkles around my mouth (they are fairly deep, since I'm nearly fifty and smoked most of my life), but nothing near as much as other glossy lipsticks and glosses, and I have to really examine myself up close to even notice. If I wipe off the gloss after ten minutes to just wear the stain, it doesn't look like it went into those lines at all.The stain lasts me about 8 hours (depending on what I eat -- greasy things will ofc remove it faster), but I honestly want to reapply the gloss at that point anyway. It also comes off evenly -- I haven't had the issue of color staying bright and solid all around my lips, but being gone in the middle.The smell (and taste) is similar to coconut oil -- faint coconut, and very "natural" -- not the cloying fake coconut smell you get in some cosmetics.With its being so hydrating (I feel it work better than most of my lip care products, including the famous LaNeige lip sleeping mask -- and yeah, I tried putting it on before bed, and the glossy look and hydrating feeling were still there the next morning), and so versatile, I think this is about the best value for your money you can get.Small downside: the color swatches don't feel super accurate -- even those where they show all colors on different skin tones. I expected this to be a bit more muted and more pink, and instead this color ended up being bright red, like a true bright red lip, which is a bit less wearable. The stain is fine, but also veers red. I have pale olive skin, and my lips aren't very naturally colored, so any stain definitely shows up bright, and that's fine, but a red lip isn't always the best choice for a daytime look, so I wish the name and the swatches would be a little more accurate. I will be buying more colors, though, cause I love it just that much.

This gloss is everything I wanted—super hydrating with a beautiful shine and a tint that actually lasts. It goes on smooth, feels lightweight, and never gets sticky or heavy. My lips stay soft for hours, and even after the shine fades, the stain stays behind in the best way.The formula feels nourishing, and the applicator makes it easy to apply evenly. I’ve tried a lot of lip products, and this one is truly a standout.Great value, great performance—definitely a go-to in my makeup routine.

Beautiful colour but the lip stain is not very dark (very very light). The lip stain also does not last all day, even if it is not wiped off and kept on as a gloss. Other shades in this brand do last a bit longer and stain better if that is what you want it for. This particular shade is a beautiful gloss colour regardless and it feels very smooth and hydrating on your lips!

I love most NYX lip products, but this one is by far the best I’ve bought so far. I used to be so obsessed with the lip oils, but this one literally does everything I wanted to do. First, the color that I got dripping in roses is so pretty and it’s such a natural color for my lips. Second, it smells nice. Third it stains and I love lip stains so this is just perfection because when the color stains, it looks as like shiny and glossy as it looks when it was first applied. I’ve never seen anything do that. And with it being a gloss, it doesn’t dry out my lips. Instead, my lips are moisturized, which no other stain does that for me because I always get chapped lips from using lip stains, even if I use oils afterwards. I literally 100% recommend and I will be buying more colors even though I love the color that I got.

The actual product I received is called “Hydrating gloss SERUM”. It looks exactly like the same as the pictures with the exception of the printed name. So I’m not sure why the name is changed and the photos are… fake?I swatched it on my inner forearm and let it sit for over 10 minutes, and it stained slightly. Otherwise, if you’re looking for a full-coverage lip gloss, the colors match the swatches and it seems fine.
