For the money, worth trying imo
The media could not be loaded. After reading reviews that it would be hard to get the air locks out of I bought it Anyways. It took a little time and finesse to get the air out of as I had Expected but was pretty straightforward. The filter has been running for about 12 hours and seems to be working well. It is virtually silent after about the first 10 minutes of pushing through all of its air bubbles. I like That it has variable output speed. As for quality I would compare it closely to my finnex 360 canister filter which was three times the cost so it seems to be a good value for the money. The quality of this filter I was Pleasantly surprised by, it seems sturdily built. Also, if you use one part common sense and two parts looking closely at pictures, assembly took about 10 minutes and another 5 minutes fitting it how I liked to my tank as there are different intake and outflow options to choose from.

Works well, but has a few flaws
I wish i could give this 5stars. I this system works very well on my 30 gallon rimless, but the set up was a nightmare to put together and even harder to get the vapour locks out of. I say this because i have purchased a lot of Hygger’s equipment in the past and have never had any issues before. This filter fulls a little short on the quality that I have come to expect form Hygger and their products. The lack of instructions is another issue that I encountered with this filter, especially for any beginner new to the hobby.I do like the flexibility that comes with this filter and just how quiet this unit really runs. Which is one reason i purchased this one. I usually like to customize my filters using a lot of different types of filtering pads and even bio balls or even carbon. The power on this unit is quite strong once you get up and running. Finally I love the stainless filter for larger debris but it still falls short on the removal of the filter for cleaning..

Leaked Everywhere
Really cool idea, but in my opinion horrible execution.Shipping was fast as usual, setup wasn’t straight forward but fairly easy once you figure out where things are going. ( I referenced the pictures on the box as the instructions were rough….)lastly, after getting it setup in the tank it leaked from a non serviceable spot at the bottom, it was a slow drip that I didn’t notice until the next morning when I had water all over my living room.Maybe I just got a defective unit, but I wouldn’t recommend anybody to take that risk.Buy at your own risk.

It works...?
I was looking for a new filter to replace my loud as all hell "quiet flow" filter, and I saw this! Marvelous! The pictures and reviews would make you think this is everything you'd want in a small filter like this, except it isn't. I'm not gonna gripe too much about the instructions as I felt it was easy to assemble once you figure out what's going on (I didn't read them as they make 0 sense). I prime the filter and plug it in, BOOM, immediate disappointment. It seems that everything on the filter works as intended except it doesn't hold up to the output it promises. I expected a decent flow but was met with nothing more than a trickle. I've made sure all of the valves were wide open and there is no possible way that anything could be blocking it already as its BRAND NEW (I checked too.) The instructions seem to hold no answer as to what is causing this and can only assume this is a defective product or something they're doing isn't right

Excellent Filtration and Quiet Operation – Perfect for 5-30 Gallon Tanks!
The media could not be loaded. This filter lives up to its name — it’s incredibly quiet! It doesn’t disturb the peace of my living space, which is a huge plus. This filter is perfect for my 30-gallon tank, and it would be great for tanks anywhere in the 5-30 gallon range. With a 132 GPH flow rate, it offers excellent performance without being overpowered. Video attached – it’s a little noisy because it was just installed, but the sound settles down once it’s fully running.

These instructions desperately need help (updated)
This is an excellent filter. I've used Hygger's heaters and they're awesome, too.The problem is the instructions! I want to tell you guys how to do it, but I'll have an aneurism. Seriously. Just put in the media you want (it comes preloaded with only floss, but includes ceramics) keeping at least one floss specifically in the bottom basket -- that one has to be floss. fill with water, and...I'm ashamed to admit this.Suck on the exhaust tube. The one with the flow control on it.I got fish water in my mouth, sure, but I was mad, man! I'm a 15 year mechanic and the ridiculous nomenclature and vague steps had me losing composure.Just. Make it happen. It'll be noisy for a minute or three, til all the air bleeds out of the pump, then it's silently skimming the yuck off your betta's townhouse. It has a drain valve. The flow can be aggressive or gentle. It has attachments that.. I dont know what to do with that little hose!! what is that for?! There's ZERO mention of it!You made a great product. People should run this setup. FIX YOUR INSTRUCTIONS. RUN IT THROUGH AI. I don't know JUST FIX ITOh and to potential loons looking to follow me down this rabbit hole, make sure the valve on the intake tube assembly is fully opened. at least for priming. Also!!! The drain valve has to be set to open (arrows pointing vertically*) or the pump won't work.Update: our betta fish wasn't the brightest. he swam into the bottom inlet of the intake tube (the part that sits in your tank, at the bottom). Thats the piece that needs a foam filter added. super dead. this filter shall henceforth be known as the soul sucker. Its hard to find foam filters with exact inside diameters.. needs to be a little undersized to fit firmly (already made that mistake). when I find an appropriate foam filter i'll update.

This One’s a Keeper
I installed this on my 17 gallon quarantine tank and it is very quiet and doesn’t constantly suck air like the previous model that I purchased and had to return. This one is definitely an improvement over the last one. Great job Hygger. Keep it up. Your
