The additional shelf eliminated too many things being stacked on each other. Makes it easier to get organized, helping to get items in and out easier. Minor item: For my freezer compartment, this shelf is about one inch less deep in the front. Does not bother me at all. It does fit into the back of freezer as it should and the width is perfect. Very Glad I got it.
