I recently purchased these ladder stabilizers for gutter work, and they've significantly enhanced my safety. Once attached, they provide a secure grip and prevent the ladder from sliding. While they may slightly limit the removal of paint from gutters, they offer a reliable solution for maintaining stability and protecting surfaces. I highly recommend these stabilizers for anyone working on ladders, especially those involving gutter cleaning or repairs.

I didn’t know they even made ladder “bumpers/stabilizers,” but they’re a great idea. I’ve dinged up my gutters and shingles many times over the years leaning a ladder against them and the ladder is more prone to sliding without them, which is why when I saw these it was a no brainer for me. Not sure what they’re made of (rubber? silicone?) but they were easy enough to put on my Werner 24’ aluminum extension ladder (model D1224-2). Once attached, they’re snug so they don’t slide around. Since they’re only about a foot long I put them where I typically “plant the ladder” (a few rungs down). Just keep in mind these bumpers will prevent you from taking paint off your gutter and stabilize you, but they won’t prevent the ladder from bending the gutters if you put a lot of weight on them.
