Cleared Up a 20 Year Pond
My Pond is about 2500 gallons with 5 Koi fish. It is 20 years old and it has so much algae that I can’t even see my fish. I saw this Aurora filter. It is priced so cheap that I was willing to give it a try. I had another pond filter costing 3X that could not keep my pond clean. After owning a few other filters, I always knew that back flush systems don’t really work. You can’t take the easy way out. Owning a pond full of big Koi fish is hard work just like owning any pet. I could tell the Aurora filter started working after a few days. The pond got a bit clearer but still lots of algae. I opened the filter and it was full of yucky green algae. I took the filter pads out of the filter, disassembled them, and hose them down. I repeated this process every few days or whenever I could tell that the water flow is slowing down due to amount of dirt trapped in the filter. The pond got a bit clearer each time after I hose down the pads. Now my pond water is totally clear again and I could see my beautiful 1.5 ft long koi fish. I did try using the back flush but as other reviewers mentioned, it doesn’t do much. You have to take out the filter pads and hose them down. All biofilters are like that. I am now at a point where I still take my filter pads out to clean them but I don’t have to separate and take them completely apart as shown in the manufacturer’ video. I just hose the pads when they are in their assembled state. I can separate the filter pads a bit using my fingers and gently hose them down. It saves time and it still allows you to clean the filter pads. So it is a shortcut. This Aurora filter works. It even cleared up a 20 year old pond full of green algae but it does require you, the owner to do some work and hose down the pads. At this cheap price, it is well worth it. Even if it does not last, I am ok with replacing it every so often.

GREAT PRODUCT
I've had my pond for over 4 years. Have come to accept that in the summer it would always be pea green til i got this filter. Even thought i've had my koi pond for 4 years I really don't know much about pond equipments. So I found the instruction to be lacking for newbies. Didn't know I was suppose to hook it to my pump. Any why I have really enjoyed my kois this summer thanks to crystal clear water. Til the light went out after a month. and pond starting turning green again. Reached out to LKF USA and after few exchanged email they sent me a replacement light bulb. Pond is already clearing up after a day. I LOVE this system. and Thank you LKF USA for the new bulb.

Bulb did not last long
I love the filter itself. It is working great. But the UV bulb lasted about 24 hrs. Now my pond is green with alge. I choose this pond filter because it has the UV lighting inside. I am giving you guys 48 hrs to to contact me and make this right. All I Am asking is to send me a new replacement bulb.

Awesome for my 125 gallon freshwater aquarium
The media could not be loaded. Do yourself a favor and buy one of these for your aquarium. You'll pay a fraction of the price what you would for a canister filter. Since this is made for a pond you get more filter capacity too. I've got this under my 125 gallon freshwater aquarium next to a 30 gallon sump. Both being powered by their own Jebao 4000s. Running the pump at minimum flow to assure the 13W UV kills most harmful bacteria, parasites, and algae in the tank. My water is crystal clear. I also run this same filter in my pond and it keeps the water from turning green from algae. The discharge outlet is really nice. You can connect a sump hose to it to do quick water changes if you have a really big aquarium that would take too long by siphon or scooping out water. You could plumb it with a quick connect and valve to make the job really fast. I've attached a video to see my complete setup and the filter in my aquarium cabinet.Update:. After running with the UV light on with around 750 GPH flow I was not able to kill off the ich in my tank. I don't think this UV is strong enough with 750 GPH flow. I knew it would be questionable. If you plan to use this as a sterilizer not clarifier you need to go with a very low flow rate. If you do that with a large tank you are going to probably need another filter to get enough turnover rate per hour. I still think this is a great setup to use with a sump filter. Just put a big GPH pump with your sump and low flow pump with the pond filter for UV protection.

The function knob broke after only 3 months
The filter worked great when i first got it. But the function switch (knob, actually) broke within 3 months. It just spins around and the "Watering" (backflow) outlet leaks outflow such that it drains the pond. Weak, all plastic construction that simply breaks ! Too bad because the filtering action is quite good. If only that knob hadn't broke...

Works great
Got this to clean out small pound 12ft long by 4ft wide by 4ft deep and over two days water went from green to clear like I just put water in that clean. I let it run first day then cleaned out filter and again second day and by that night water was super clear. Would buy again if I ever need one.

Works great until it doesn't work
I have two goldfish ponds. After winter they are really gross from months of fish poop and such. Each filter can get pond REALLY clean in about a week. Then it is sparkling for rest of summer. It does a great job. But they are built not to last. The cheap plastic cracks and they start popping the breaker. I bought my first two in summer of 2017. One of them went bad last summer so bought a replacement. Both of them were bad when I tried to use them a few weeks ago. THEY SAT IN MY GARAGE ALL WINTER where temp does not get below freezing. So I had two buy two more. After about one of the new ones started popping breaker when it rains. Have to have plastic over it now but working fine.
