Great phone
It is a great advanced phone but takes awhile getting to know how to use it . It has so many features I will never use but it has a loud ring and a clear speaker feature. It had an answering feature with playback. It tells your missed calls.

Operation is more complicated than it needs to be
I've had VTech wireless phones for at least the past 15 years. They are long lasting and durable. The sound quality is excellent. So what's my problem? In trying to add more features to prevent these desktop phones from becoming obsolete, they've added more menus and submenus. Some of the most common functions you'll need or want to use are hidden in the menus and submenus. The most common usage features should be the most readily apparent from the buttons on the phone, not hidden. Also, the "manual" is lacking. It's a good "fast start" type of manual, but you're going to have to figure out the menus and submenus on your own. Nothing explains them in an organized way. Then you have to remember the functions, because there is not "cheat card" the summarized all the function succinctly.Considering that VTech got the important stuff done correctly, not making the usability and manual easier was a huge mistake. Look for an easier phone.

Not user friendly and terrible customer support
Installation was a snap, but we find many of the functions difficult to use. You have to push too many buttons to access them. We do like the call blocking function, which was easy to set up and seems to be very effective. Our old system announced the caller's name when the phone rang. This one does not.I had questions about the number of phone numbers that could be held in the phone-book, and the various blocking categories. I sent the questions to VTech support on their website and got a response that they could not answer those very simple questions. They gave me a phone number for their technical support staff. I called twice and no one answered.

Better Range and Sound Quality
Battery: My only complaint is the battery life. These use a 300 mAh battery pack that appears to be 2-AAA batteries. I would prefer a larger battery pack so I would not need to recharge every 3 days for phones that are on standby most of the time.Excellent Range: This system replaced a 5+ year old V-Tech one that was getting scratchy reception in the back room that I use as an office. This new one has extended range and the signal is much better and quite usable in the farthest room from the base. Conversations are reported by the other party on the phone to be very clear.Value: I bought the 3-Handset V-Tech as I found it cheap - about the same price as the 2-Handset system. I use one phone, while the second is a backup for when the primary phone needs charging. The third phone is still in the box for future use.PS: I had to put felt pads on the back of the phones because I kept almost knocking them off the desk when I reached to pick them up. They slide very easily on a hard surface.

Absolutely horrible menu interface
This is the product I have most regretted ever buying. It is insanely difficult to do even the most simple operations. All of which are arcane and non-obvious and require far more steps than they should.Simple things that ought to just happen, don't. Picking up the phone does not answer it. You have to press a button after you have picked up the phone. Why? Phones have been out there for a very long time. It doesn't require a new way of doing things here.Dialing a number from the phonebook is a many many step operation which more likely than not ends up with function you didn't want such as editing the number.Absolutely insane. After many weeks of use, I am planning to put back my former (Panasonic) phone set. Its one key disadvantage was that the signal is rather weak. OK the current phone is great on that score. But everything else is just so bad I don't think I want to deal with it any more.

Complete system
Love the many features. Requires some time to understand them all so one needs to download the full user manual which was not hard to do. Sound is good. Love the answering machine to screen calls.
