I recently purchased the R9 Fastpitch Softball Glove for my granddaughter, and it has been a fantastic choice! The glove broke in quickly and was game-ready almost right out of the box, which made it easy for her to start using it without a long break-in period. The leather is high-quality and feels sturdy yet soft, providing the perfect balance of flexibility and support for young players.She loves the comfortable fit and the way it forms perfectly to her hand, giving her the confidence to field balls with ease. The break-in process was not a hassle at all! Took a short period of smacking and play catch and it's game ready! I find the glove comfortable to wear. The leather, the laces - everything feels premium. In terms of durability, I'd say it would last seasons even with everyday catching. Love the looks; the colour give youthfulness to the player wearing it.

Exactly what I have come to expect from Rawlings. Good quality. Came quite stiff, no surprise. After four days of working, it is beginning to flex decent. Holds a pocket well. 11 y/o daughter who is well below average height/weight for age is able to squeeze ball and fits her hand decent.

This is a good looking, mid-level all leather glove, that includes the leather laces and bindings. Its well made and not too stiff. With a little bit of mallet work you could get it broken in within a day.This glove should be big enough for the majority of you bucket Dads, but small enough for kids 10 and up.The only feedback I have is the way it was shipped. It was sent in a bag and had nothing inside the glove to prevent it from being pancaked.

The glove is easy to break in but I'd still recommend using glove oil on it (the Rawlings documentation says as much). That said after applying that and putting a ball in it with a glove wrap overnight, it was already to a point where my daughter could routinely catch a 12" ball with it. It still needs a bit of breaking in to get to an ideal state, but she could absolutely use it in a game as it is now. I was happily surprised by that.If it has any shortcoming it might be the laces, which seem just slightly loose across the glove fingers relative to most ball gloves. But tightening that would be rather trivial if we wanted to do so.
