Excellent camcorder - tried and tested in the field
Having done the usual research on various websites and forums I ended up choosing this camcorder and I am not disappointed. Initially when I received it I was slightly underwhelmed with the control you have over things such as shutter speed, aperture etc but having dug a little deeper you can get behind the bonnet and make some tweaks. However the strengths of this camcorder for me is just how excellent the video quality is, how quickly and easy it is to capture those great fleeting moments, how long-lasting the battery is (mind you I did also purchase the larger battery), how much capacity a 64 Gig card provides and finally just how great it is to watch your masterpieces via the projector function.I am on holiday as I write this and just thought that I would let everyone know how much I rate this camera. My only caveat is for those who want full control over their film-making - if that is you then perhaps this may not be the camera for you. If on the other hand you want a camera that is extremely easy to use so that you can capture events in high quality - and only needs a blank plane (wall, ceiling, floor etc) for impressive playback then go for it, I am glad I did!

Excellent Camcorder for "Vlogging"
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a Camcorder for vlogging and after some extensive investigations I settled on the HandyCam HDR-PJ620 and I love this Camcorder!, I had a specification wish list before hand:• Records HD Video• View screen that flips over when I am in shot, essential for Vlogging and selfies• Direct connection to PC and TV• Good Low light recording• Lightweight and Easy to use• Optional External Microphone• Good battery lifeNow that I have played with it for a few weeks, here are my findings:Pros• Charges quickly – it took around 15 minutes to charge from flat.• Lightweight and compact• Screen flips to front view – perfect for Vloggers• Good in low-light conditions• 30x Optical Zoom• NFC transfer from camera to Mobile Phone• Image stabilization• Projector. I must admit, I thought that having a Projector on a CamCorder was a gimmick but after playing with it a few times I can see how useful this could be. [Show Focussing]Cons• Being Sony, this handycam uses the XAVC Video format which is a newer Video format that supports 4K video up to 60 frames per second and while this isn’t exactly a bad point you’ll need at least a class 10 SD card and I would recommend 32Gb or above if you plan to record in full HD.• This video format uploaded directly to Youtube, Facebook and Vimeo without problems. The videos imported into GoPro studio but I couldn’t clip them until I’d externally converted them to H264 AVI but I had no problems editing in Sony Movie Studio.• The Photographs are only 9.2 Megapixels which is fine, but is considered low-resolution nowadays – my Mobile Phone has a 16 megapixel camera. To be honest, you probably wouldn’t use this camera for stills anyhow.• It has a 30x optical zoom although it says 60x zoom on the camera – I presume that the rest is made up with Digital zoom so you may be inadvertently reducing the picture quality by using the full zoom.Overall, the only downside to this camera is that the Microphone isn't quite good enough for Vlogging so I bought an external Microphone and a button Microphone and now I am really happy with it!Speedlink Spes Clip-On MicrophoneHTDZ Professional Shotgun Microphone Mic for Sony Camcorder

The Sony Play stuff for desktop interaction with the camera and your movie/photo collection is not that useful and behaves very
For the simple case of shoot and edit this mostly works. You can use USB or take out the stick to transfer files off it - although watch out because the higher quality videos are in a PRIVATE/STREAMS folder not the more obvious ones. The projector is totally a gimmick - used it once to try it out - do NOT buy this for that capability. The Sony Play stuff for desktop interaction with the camera and your movie/photo collection is not that useful and behaves very poorly on a high-resolution Windows 10 laptop - it doesn't handle font scaling, and doesn't quite render. The WiFi system is fairly limited - you can only stream through the very expensive uStream service - you cannot stream to a local machine and you can forget any nice Picture In Picture type work when doing so. There is also no ability to send the live stream via USB. You can remote control from a phone wifi.If you intend to do live streams for a media channel - avoid this camera.

Great camcorder, cheaper elsewhere.
+ Excellent camera, fantastic picture quality, although a big smeary in lo light, quick to start recording and optical steady shot is rock solid- Unfortunately for Amazon this is available for £50 less at a number of other reputable stores including John Lewis and Amazon wouldn't price match so I had to return it and buy elsewhere!

fantastic piece of kit, great pictures easy to use. only let down was not the camera but the bundle and the wrong memory card being offered, sold, sent and will have to be returned. The camera takes a micro SD, simple!! Again, the camera is great

Excellent Camera and very easy to use
Excellent Camera and very easy to use. Low light video capture is very good and the projector is very bright. The software that comes with the unit is not intuitive though.
