Good design, poor sound, poorest UI.
So first the unit I bought (and returned) was used. There were scratch marks front and back. Then, let’s talk about sound. Unfortunately it feels very compressed and distorted. It’s like listening to low res MP3’s with WinAMP 1.0 like 30 years ago (time flies).Without any EQ, there is massive amount of white noise in the background. With EQ and whatever electronic alteration you add, it sounds extremely compressed and distorted, with poor frequency separation.I A/B tested it with wired headphones only. One was a Sony MD class and the other a mid-end Shure pair of buds. Because the sound was so poor on the Shure, I’m also tempted to trash them. The Sony’s were much better, and it felt too compressed and unable to keep with volume levels. The only time I actually had fun with this unit was with a DSD file at 2.8Mhz 1 bit compression (Pink Floyd). When it comes to the UI, it’s really poor. First the screen isn’t responsive enough, and that’s probably because there are so many options onscreen, it’s just impossible for your finger to find the right button, which becomes frustrating even on the first ever use of the product. As usual with most Chinese apps, the UI is overcrowded with useless features.Another feature which is one of the most frustrating and can not be changed by user is skipping songs or volume when the screen goes in sleep mode. It’s totally unresponsive and you need to wake the screen up by pressing the ‘on/off’ button. Totally unintuitive.

Nice unit
This is my 3rd attempt to replace my aging IPOD and this unit comes the closest. Easy to operate and with great sound. Bluetooth connected easily to my car and kept the connection. The memory card (64gb) included was of decent quality (others I have tried came with cards I would not trust)Less frustration, intuitive, controls are clear though the manual could be more comprehensiveTouch screen is bright and very visible. Nice for us older folk...
