Large Dog Door for Sliding Door Insert, 78-82 in Patio Slider

First off, this has turned out to be a huge hit for me personally. After I trained my pup to use it, he's been on autopilot ever since. To be fair, this works in our circumstance. Fenced in back yard, mild year-round weather conditions. Now my dog is like a cat and the backyard is his litterbox. Which sounds funny, but it works extremely well for us. Is this perfect? No. Be sure and have a bar or use wood, whatever, as you lose security as there is nothing for the original sliding glass door to latch into. Have something for the jam so the door can't be forced back to open it. You'll also want to purchase additional 1" insulation tape(?) as the minor amount included isn't enough. This is easy enough to do and add on, so not a big deal. It does make accessing your backyard via the sliding glass door a bit more of a process. Remove the door-jam bar, flip open included latch, and then just know the open space available to you has been greatly reduced by inclusion of the insert. It's still usable, don't get me wrong, but it's a smaller opening and a bit more of a process to open/close. I'm very pleased as the benefits outweighs the cons.

This product is great! For my situation! I work 12 hr shifts and live alone. I needed to be able to let the dogs in and out and still have some sort of security as well. As far as ease of putting it together, it was not hard. But the instructions it came with were not all there or clear. If you have some basic common sense and knowledge of basic mechanics you should be able to make it work for you. You will also need some sort of bar or wooden dowel to wedge in-between the door to secure it. As it doesn't come with a very good way to lock the doors together. The quality of the aluminum and glass seem to be good so far. I did have to buy extra insulation to go around the seems of the door though to keep it tight. My two dogs go in and out of this like a revolving door and so far in a month of using it has withstood the use. It did not take long to train the dogs to go in and out if it either. It's not to heavy or to light. The only regret I have in buying this is my puppy is going to be taller than this large size door. I should have bought a bigger door opening and they are not interchangeable. So in a few months I will be needing to buy a bigger door insert. I do recommend buying this product for the price and ease of use.

Did not come with all the parts needed for assembly. When I contacted the manufacturer, they told me that it's not their problem because I bought it off of Amazon!!Terrible customer service! Had to piece it together with my own hardware.

Looks great. The only issue I had was it being 1 cm to tall for my door. I measured my door before I ordered this product too. I ended up took the top panel off which retracts to come shorter or longer, and shimmied it into the sliding door frame and reattached. Everything is solid and not going anywhere now though. Good product and would’ve been super easy to install if it wasn’t for that.

The door itself is great, however it said it was 84 inches, and clearly it is not. I would give it higher stars, but the product was not accurate with their height of the door.Clearlyy sliding glass door is much taller than the product.

This dog door was super easy to put together and install. It seemed like a good quality product...until our dog went through it a few times. The flap kept coming loose on the side which allowed it to stay open, letting in the cold and bugs. We kept popping it back in but it would just pop back out again. Eventually the whole thing came off. It is essentially useless to us now since we can't have a gaping hole in our door. I was really hoping this would work but sadly I have been disappointed.

So many parts to put together for something that should be so simple. Also, extremely heavy and hard to move around. I sent it back.
