So much Fun
These dog communication buttons are a fun way to interact with my pet! The recording is clear, and my dog learned to use them quickly. The buttons seem durable, and I like that they come with a mat to keep them organized. However, the quality could be a bit better considering the price. But overall, they're a fun and useful tool for training and communication.

Decent buttons with good sound quality, but no training instruction
These CHATTER PAWS Dog Buttons for Communication have effectively taught my dog how to get me to push a button and then give him what the button tells me to.I have a very smart and lazy dog who uses those brains to effectively manipulate me and my husband. I'm trying to teach him that if he hits the "TUM TUM" button (I made my own labels), he will get tummy rubs. Instead, he lays there whining at me until I hit the button and then give him belly rubs. Good hooman. As for the product itself, it can be a little confusing because, yes, the stickers that come with it arrive a little wrinkled, and each button (that requires two AAA batteries, not included) comes pre-recorded with the word "hello," so you think that you might have gotten a returned item, but no, this is how it comes. There are instructions on how to get the buttons to operate, but none on how to start training your dog to use them, which I feel relies too much on tutorials already out there for similar products. That said, these buttons seem decently made, have good sound quality, and they don't frighten my dog like other buttons I've tried. It's a little difficult for him to get the correct pressure to trigger the recording because he's still a little tentative about them, but I think with time he'll build more confidence to press them firmly (but he's very proud of me that I've picked it up so quickly). The little neoprene mat helps them not to slide if you're training your dog on a hard surface, but any carpet or rug in your home would serve just as well. They're not without their faults, but just the fact that the sound quality is good enough that it doesn't scare my dog has me eager to persist in training and hopefully get my dog to do some of the work instead of me.I think $28.99 is a little high for this product, considering its deficits.

Let's try this again!
I have a few sets of 'dog buttons', and this one is pretty much the same. The primary difference I noticed are that the audio is clearer on this set than the others I have.I do want to mention that the little 'pad' they provide to set the buttons on just didn't work well for me. I have hardwood floors, so perhaps that has something to do with it. As the boys 'boop' the buttons, the pad gets pushed all around the room. All in all, these are nice buttons, but of course your mileage may vary.

Work well, a bit loud
Both my cat and dog have no issues pressing these buttons. The buttons are well constructed and stay put in the base. You have plenty of time to record a phrase or word and it is easy and quick to do so! These buttons however are very loud. I wish you could change the volume level on them. Neither of my animals are phased but I could definitely see it being an issue if you have a sensitive animal. Other than that, they work well and we have had fun training to use them !

Canine fun!
I like that this has a mat that holds the buttons. It's easy to secure them extra-well if your dog is a little enthusiastic about pushing them, and paws at them. The buttons allow you to record a variety of words, and it's a lot of fun to teach your dog how to use them! Because the buttons will record up to 30 seconds, you can record either easy words like "outside" or you can record longer things like "Go outside to go Potty" - the best way to start training is to start with a 'treat' command, until they know pushing the button will get them a treat, or to teach them to push the button every time they want to go outside- either way, these buttons allow you to teach a variety of expressions so your pet can alert you to all sorts of needs. "Give pets" when they want to be petted and such, or "dinner" if they want food- I even enjoy giving them an expression like "heck you" or "mad" to allow them to express feelings too. This is a kind of starter set really, and if you decide you need more buttons, it's easy to acquire a new set or a larger unit. Dogs learn super fast, that pushing the buttons gets a reaction, so use wisely, and enjoy 'talking' with your dog!

Scared my dog
Well, we tried. Thought this would be a fun activity for our Australian Labradoodle. He’s a smart guy and needs lots of activities to keep him happy. Outside of the dust mop, he’s really not that squeamish around things. We took our time to get him comfortable with these buttons prior to pressing them. But as soon as a button was pressed, that was the end of it. Won’t come near them. Oh well!

Very Fun, if somewhat Loud (No Volume Control)
My puppies are having a ball with these buttons! They have learned astoundingly fast to walk over and press them when they want something! You can erase and re-record different phrases on them, so if you're teaching your pups a particular new word or command, that feature is helpful. These buttons require 2 AAA batteries each, so I'll be buying the super packs. It would have been convenient for them to be rechargeable. There is no volume adjustment, and they're pretty loud. That could be a good thing though, say, for when your dog desperately needs you to hear that he must go outside to relieve himself...IMMEDIATELY! The set comes with some pre-printed stickers. They are a not easy to get to lay flat and smooth on the dome shaped buttons, so some of mine have wrinkles in them. I think my dogs are getting to know where each button is located on the non-slip mat, even if their eyes can't discern each button's color. So, between their juxtapositions and the pictures I stuck on each button's face, my pups seem to be learning which button says what...and remarkably quickly! This is a very fun way to interact with your dogs...both for the canines and the humans. My pups love the mental challenge and stimulation. The better a dog can communicate to his humans about what he wants or needs, the easier and more fun pet parenting becomes!
