Ordered this to keep track of the inventory in my automotive shop...While it does have a very wide learning curve, it's a very nice scanner once you get it all set up to work with your existing inventory software.Compared to the more expensive inventory scanners I have used, this one holds it's own and makes a great asset to any small company with a decent size inventory.The battery lasts fairly long and charges easily and quickly.

The main reason I am giving this product 2 stars is because after going to the website listed in the instructions to download DataTool (their tool for allowing the device to communicate with your computer, even though they say you won't need to download an app....) I found that it was an .exe file. There are many hoops to jump through if you want to try to open these files on a mac, but I didn't even get to those steps because I ran it through a malware scanning service and it was flagged as malicious. In the instructions it says 'Please ignore virus alerts, won't damage your computer.' I am not reassured.I've been through a computer virus situation before and I'm not going to risk it again. That means this tool is not nearly as useful to me, unless I want to manually record the data after scanning, which seems to defeat the point. The instructions themselves are incredibly confusing, you'd probably be better off just messing around with it.Overall, based on the potential malware alone I would not feel confident recommending this product. There have to be better similarly priced options out there.

We like this hand held scanner. It was easy to pair and use with our inventory system. It was easy to program and start using. The instruction manual was good with 34 pages on how to use the device whether you are plugging it in directly to your compture or using the receiver. The screen is easy to read.

What was thought as a complete scanning solution is a set of features that needs integration with the tool. It doesn’t help that the instructions are not confuse and the tool is not that intuitive. One or two of the features allow for yes as a portable, but true data management will need the date to be downloaded. Not recommended but for limited use.
