Tip for making your speakers pretty loud!- not background noise, more like a radio.
I just purchased a solo pulse bluetooth speaker LED bulb! I love it. Also, turning the volume up in the app is not too loud, but using your phone options DOES make it much louder than the app. The JBL 1 inch speakers, and actually sound great and loud enough in my bedroom, so it is not like background music, but more like a radio when I turn up the side volume buttons on my Iphone 6plus. hope this helps! however, I haven't been I just purchased a solo pulse bluetooth speaker LED bulb! I love it. also, turning the volume up in the app is not too loud, but using your phone option DOES make it much louder than the app. this one has JBL 1 inch speakers, and actually sounds great and loud enough in my bedroom.Haven't been able to get it synced with my smartthings system, even though there is one sengled bulb you CAN connect, it is the plain bulb that is just an LED buld. But I may be buying these as well for lighting automation for my wireless system. The pulse solo it has it's own app for now.I keep the switch for my lamp turned on, and in the app just turn the lamp on 0% so I can turn it on and off whenever I want without flipping the wall switch. The one thing I don't care for is that if you use it this way, anytime you text or type the typing noise is pushed through the speaker. So I will just disconnect the bluetooth setting in my iphone once I'm done using it. Overall, worth the $39 sale price on amazon prime day. I'm more pleased with it than I expected considering people saying they can barely hear the music. Just turn it all the way up in the app, then use the volume buttons on your phone! best tip ever! I promise! hope this review helps someone else!

Tried, tested, but the audio is awful and lots of lag and breakup even at extremely close range
Build quality feels good, and it's a good looking bulb if a bit on the large side (understandable given the speaker) The app works fine for dimming the bulb but the audio breaks up badly (phone less than 4 feet from the bulb) also there is a significant delay between the bulb and broadcast so unusable to broadcast video synched audio from a mobile device. The audio when it isn't breaking up is also very muddy, it sounds like a cheap and blown 2" hobby speaker. I tested with a Samsung S6 Edge, IPhone 6 and IPad and all had the audio breakup problem. It would work fine for 2-3 minutes and then hit a terrible rash of stuttering and dropout. Tested with Youtube App, Pandora, Milk and playing local device MP3's all had the same dropout issue. Playing the same songs over the mobile device speaker had no such problem (eliminating net lag as a possibility) It did seem like if you adjust bright/dim while playing songs the issue was worse so perhaps it's a processor issue with the device. My verdict is not ready for prime time. I was hoping to gift to my daughter but this one is going back.

Easy to use
This was my first foray into smart home products as I wanted to put some festive color lights on my back patio sconce, and having a bluetooth speaker was the icing on the cake, as now I can play music while gardening or hanging by the fire pit. I wouldn't recommend installing this bulb in a sconce that isn't protected from rain, but so far our Solo lamp is working fabulously as the porch lamp sconce is upside down so it shields the bulb from the elements.I also purchased a couple white Pulse Master/Satellite pairs for the bathroom fixtures and one thing I love about the RGB solo bulb over the Pulse bulbs is the solo bulb is not so wide, so it fits more like a regular bulb. It's still heavy compared to a standard bulb, but that is to be expected. Honestly, no matter which one you choose, they're all more attractive than the CFL lamps they are replacing.I love that I can choose colors or set to a pattern for the RGB solo bulb. I currently have the rainbow pattern set up and I've set the bulb to remember the setting so that I don't have to choose it again when I turn it back on.The sound quality of the Sengled bulbs is quite average and certainly doesn't deliver much bass, but that is to be expected for a speaker with such a small footprint...actually it's probably good that there isn't much bass to shake the fixtures. The Sengled Pulse app (which controls the Pulse bulbs and the Solo bulbs) works just fine, but be aware that while technically you can connect to all the bulbs on Bluetooth settings simultaneously (at least I can on my iPhone SE 2020), you can actually only update settings for one master at a time, so in reality, sound will only play for the last master bulb you turned the switch on for.You do choose which bulbs to play by choosing to connect to that bulb on bluetooth, turning on the switch, and standing near the bulb so that the Sengled Pulse app controls show for that bulb.As far as I am aware, you can only PLAY one master bulb at a time, so this means since each Solo bulb acts as it's own Master, you cannot set other Solos as satellite to play music on multiple Solo bulbs simultaneously from the same phone. Maybe there is a way around this somehow, but I haven't figured it out yet.I would LOOOOOVE to see RGB satellite speaker bulbs. Man, I would be so excited if I could set all my lamps to orange, purple, and green and play halloween music, or red and green and play christmas music.Being the novice that I am, I haven't attempted to set up any speaker bulbs to connect with my TV, but I did see a setting in the manual so I will consider for the future.Keep it up, Sengled- you have a wonderful product here, and I would happily buy many more if you sold RGB satellite speaker bulbs.

Cool, but could be brighter.
I will say I used it in a lamp with a lamp shade which reduces some light. And it's I'd say bright enough, but on the colored modes it could definitely be brighter. Otherwise the sound quality is decent for the price and what it actually is. And the app is pretty easy to set up and use. One thing that's nice is this is Bluetooth and not wifi so no need to rely on your network.

Wouldn't connect to phone
Super coolI wish I could've gotten it to work. I tried to connect to it with 3 different phones all using their app..I think the bulb wasn't the issue it looked well made but the app for controlling it is garbage. I ended up returning mine but, I give it 3 stars cuz it has heavy and it seems well built if they get a better app for operating it I think it'll be a winner.

Cool in ceiling fan
This is pretty nice. I like the variety of color and it remembers what you set to last so it isn’t a surprise when you turn it on. I use it in my ceiling fan in my bedroom so I can change the color when I am reading in bed or watching a movie. The sound is also pretty nice. It gets loud enough for an average sized room. It connects with the Bluetooth Sengled app, which is separate from the other app I have all my light bulbs on. That I found a little odd as to why it couldn’t be combined but not a huge issue. It’s easy to connect and use, and share to connect phones for music.

Amazing Bulb, great colours with vibrant sound!
The bulb works better than I had anticipated, its sound is rich and warm. Has a beautiful array of colours. Very easy to pair with the phone.Only one thing I don’t like is that only one person can be connected at once. So if I’m connected and leave the cottage to go home, no one can use it wil my phone is still linked to it!

It's been on
I wanted this for my bathroom as I love music going while I'm in the shower. I was disappointed this light had no level of white to match my other LED bulbs. It's also not very bright at all. It's almost more of a nightlight glow when it's on it's own and I turn off the other lights. Sound is decent. Light sucks.

Decent speaker
Surprisingly good sound quality and volume for the size of the speaker and the light is the right intensity for over the kitchen sink. Only thing I don't like is the beeping every time I turn the light on.
