smells like moth balls
First, I saw 5 stars and ordered without reading the reviews, my bad. After opening the packets I read the reviews and they are for a completely different product. Once I opened the packets I was disappointed how they smelled, which is just like old fashioned moth balls, not a wiff of peppermint or anything else remotely pleasant . I had opened the packets so I went ahead and placed them throughout my apartment. I sure hope these chase the mice away cause the smell is awful. I wish I had returned them before opening them all.

Do the job
These definitely work to keep critters away. We use them in our camper. Underneath the camper also. The odor is strong at first but it isnt unpleasant. It is more natural and not as offensive as mothballs. I would purchase these again.

Waste of my hard earned money
Short summary. This absolutely does not work. I used it to protect my bird feeder and next thing I see is the furry fella sitting in the middle of my feeder gulping down seeds and nuts. Do not waste your money. p.s. I had five of the spheres sitting around the feeder.

No more unexpected mouse encounters
I've had field mice building nest in spaces that I didn't think they would want to be in. A few of those balls in strategic locations and no more mice. As long as they stay dry, they last a long time.

After the first day, squirrels were back in full force and ignored the repellent
Did not solve the squirrel problems

Hilarious! Most of these reviews are for fish baskets - not rodent repellent!
I bought some other peppermint balls a year ago that worked very well keeping mice out of the van motor compartment for a couple months we were away. These DID NOT WORK AT ALL! They didn't even smell like peppermint - more like kerosene. Glue traps are much more effective.

Work great to keep squirrels away
So easy. Just unwrap and throw in potted flowers
