This is a great stand-alone setup for a single tent. Controller works the same way all the other ones do. then it's hands off. no worry, and no smells getting out. either.

This is a nice air filtration system. My Groton is actually outside with the heater on it, but I still have it doing this to keep the buildup of whatever could build up inside of there out lol it definitely moves air and I feel that my grow tent gets a nice circulation of air through it which keeps my plants healthy. The filter seems to be really nice so I would say if you were doing something that actually has aroma to it that you need to filter out the smell it seems like it would probably work well.

This filtered fan works nice. I don't use it for growing but I do use it on my smoker and it works great. Very low noise and easy to use. Great price

Well, I don't have a grow tent. I have a greenhouse the size of a large closet, just 35 square feet, and my inline duct fan keeping it cool in the summer heat died on me! When I saw this set up, I knew it not only could replace my current dead inline fan, it could upgrade my setup. My original air system had steel duct pipes, which are an immense pain to work with. Just replacing the old fan, I had to completely disassemble everything just to remove the inline fan. Inline here means the fan goes between two sections of duct pipe.With this system and a little imagination, I greatly improved my greenhouse using the flex duct and fan included in this kit. Installing the new fan was a breeze! Flex duct is SO much easier to work with than steel ducting! I reinstalled the old steel duct going through the greenhouse wall because it can support the weight of the fan. I used the kit's 4 inch rubber collar to connect the new fan to the exhaust. I connected a wye duct to the fan's input, then cut the flex duct and attached the two pieces to the wye. I was then able to route the flex to just above my 400 watt sodium streetlights, which I use during the winter when there isn't enough natural sunlight. Coincidentally, these two areas pool heat in the summer, so killing two birds with one stone (or duct) I was able to cool my greenhouse much better than I could with inflexible steel duct.It was a bit of work, but by using pieces from the new kit, I'm left with a big system improvement in two ways. First, having two air intakes improves heat extraction. With flex duct, I can route the intake lines more easily, and put the intakes exactly where they would do the best job. Second, when this fan dies, replacing it will be SO much easier thanks to the flex duct! I actually tried using plastic dryer hose a few years ago. The plastic dryer hose melted! Oh, well. Now I have a much better air handling and cooling system than I started with. For me, this kit was a godsend, even though I'm not using it they way the vendor intended. I'm one happy camper now! While I didn't use the carbon filter from the kit, I used just about everything else, including the electronic controller and the two suspension cords! Works for me!

I have been using this in my smaller indoor greenhouse that is set up for higher humidity plants to keep some airflow and prevent disease. It works okay, it was easy to set up. Not sure it's much better than a small fan, but it is quiet, so that is a plus.

was running a grow and this thing just failed after about 2 months... just stopped working. kind of sad really.

This product would have received a 5-star rating would it work with the carbon filter in my growth tent.Initially, it worked as advertised for two days when the exhaust air volume was reduced to almost zero! Disconnecting the carbon filter from the quiet air exhaust fan restored the variable fan speed setting.
