Bring a friend, a drill and a free half-day.
You need a drill and about 5 hours for assembly. A couple longer narrow pieces were warped. The larger pegs were loose in the pre-drilled holes. The hardware was a mix of Phillips head wood screws and allen wrench machine screws. Except for the slats, which have to be screwed in, there were no predrilled holes for the wood screws. You’re not getting those in with a normal screwdriver. The only tools it comes with are allen wrenches. The directions were okay. You had to look closely to determine which direction some of the wood was supposed to go. Some instructions were not thought out. Like the direction of the slide assembly would have parts falling out unless you held them in there. It’s way easier to turn the slide over to put it together. The hardware was nicely divided in bags and clearly labeled. I’d say about 10% of the wood pieces were missing ID stickers. And some of the stickers were positioned on the outside of the bed making them visible when it was all done. The bed seemed sturdy. The panel that makes the slide is 1/2” too short. I can imagine clothing getting caught in that gap which could be a safety hazard. The wood that creates the angled “roof” juts out from the edges of the bed. That means the bed can’t be flush against a wall; there will be at least a 2” gap.All in all, seems fine. Just give yourself ample time and a drill. I don’t know how the price compares to others.
