Amazing value for professional-grade paints.
This review is for the St. Petersburg White Nights Watercolor 24 Full Pans Set.In only a few words, I love this set. For professional-grade watercolors the price can't be beat. The paints come in full pans, so you're getting plenty of value for your money as well. I would recommend this brand, either this set or the smaller set of 9 colors they also sell on Amazon, to beginner artists as well as more experienced watercolor artists on a budget.I often see the Winsor & Newton Cotman watercolor sets recommended to beginners looking to get into watercolors. I own both and absolutely disagree with those recommendations. For a similar price, perhaps a few dollars more, you can buy the White Nights paints, which are far above and beyond the quality of the Cotman paints. Let's look at a list of pros and cons:Pros:. The price. These are professional quality paints, at a very affordable price point. The value for money is unmatched.. Most of these paints are very easy to activate, without having to overwork the pans, and a little bit of paint goes a long way. If you're upgrading to this set after previously using a set of student grade watercolors you'll immediately see and feel the difference.. The palette is huge! I included a photo with an 8 1/2" x 12" sketchbook on top of it for reference. When the palette is fully open you have tons of mixing space.. Speaking of mixing space, this palette has 4 huge divided wells in the lid, as well as a removable mixing tray that provides 12 mixing wells.. There are a wide variety of colors in the 24 set that provides huge potential for mixing. 17 of the colors in this set are single-pigment colors. There are a mixture of transparent, semi transparent, and opaque colors as well as some granulating colors.Cons:. The palette is huge. If you don't have a large desk this could be a problem, so I would recommend the smaller set of White Nights, or simply transferring these pans into a smaller palette or tin.In my opinion there are not many downsides to this set. Especially for beginners trying to decide on their first set of watercors, you should definitely go with these!

These are the best watercolors I have ever used
These are the best watercolors I have ever used. They are at a remarkably low price for the quality and I have used them many times and still have plenty of paint left- enough to last several years. I have owned one other set of artist grade watercolors, and I am by no means a professional, but I have been very satisfied with the performance of these paints and they are more vibrant than any watercolors I have used yet. The color shows up very well on the paper, even with large amounts of water (yet they are still spreadable and the color can easily be faded to the artists' preference.)When they arrived, they were each individually wrapped and in a sensible and convenient order.Shortly after using the product the first time, I dropped the box and the paints, some of which that were still wet, all fell out onto the floor. The colors are each distinguishable enough that by painting a small sample of each, I was able to see which was which. My only complaint about this product is that the pallet is not completely full (which, in the future, will also be a big benefit when it comes to investing in more colors), thus the colors slide around when it is picked up, and occasionally may pop out of the slots. However, the pallet is incredibly well designed for blending and thinning color. The seller was incredibly helpful- If you are in the US like me, expect the wait to be pretty long, but it was all worth it and this seller was reliable. Before ordering, I could tell from this page that they are actively answering questions and making their best efforts to help customers. I could also see that they were a reliable amazon seller- that many other customers had received their orders in a timely manner. I would not hesitate to order from them again.

Amazing quality and colors
Super bright and pretty colors! Not a huge fan of the box it comes with - the paints tend to slide around a lot and it's pretty bulky, so I bought myself one of those metal boxes to put them in instead - but the paints themselves are amazing. I get sad when I go back to my old, cheaper watercolor sets now because they're so chalky and pale in comparison. The colors in this set are definitely earthier, so you'll have to do a bit of your own playing around with mixing colors if you want different shades, but honestly the vibrancy and quality is pretty amazing.

Love these unique watercolors
Something so unique about these paints, I little goes a long way, so creamy, they rewet with such ease they are just so nice to work with. They stay moist and dont dry to hard rocks in the pans. The price is unbeatable for artist quality full pans. I found an etsy store selling individual colors so I filled up the rest of my palette with my favorite colors, love that it's customized now. this palette is always out on my desk on stanby because I know there is enough paint to paint freely and I don't have to feel guilty using up my more expensive watercolors. That being said there are a few cons, I like that there are 12 mixing areas however its not the best quality, plastic stains horribly and the grids are not high enough to prevent mixing alot of color without it spilling over to the next mixing well especially if you leave it attached to the palette because the whole mixing tray slants up so all four back squares just spill into eachother. Also, some colors don't have good payoff like Cobal, Cerulean, Yellow Ochre or Naples - you really have to manipulate your brush to get any color to come out with it & I noticed these colors seem to have a different consistancy not sure but most other colors you just touch your brush to the pan and you've got more color than you need! Even with the tray and a few poor pigments I still love this set and the colors I added making it custom, deff reccomend for anyone who loves watercolor.
