From Bathroom Remodels to Mischievous Pets—This Camera Covers It All!
I originally bought the Tapo by TP-Link 1080P Indoor Security Camera to keep an eye on the contractors remodeling my bathroom. I wanted something reliable that would let me check in without constantly hovering or asking for updates—and wow, this little camera went above and beyond.Once the remodel was done, I started using it to monitor my pets while I’m out of the house, and now I seriously can’t imagine not having it. It’s like having eyes and ears at home 24/7.⸻🛁 Peace of Mind During Home ProjectsHaving strangers in your home during a renovation can be stressful, but this camera made it so much easier. I could check in throughout the day, see who was there, when they arrived, and what progress was being made—all from my phone. The video is crisp and clear, even in low light, and the wide-angle view captured the entire bathroom entry.⸻🐾 Perfect for Pet ParentsNow that the contractors are gone, the camera’s full-time job is keeping tabs on my pets. I can watch them nap, play, or occasionally get into trouble (like knocking things off the table 🙄). The motion detection picks up activity instantly and sends alerts to my phone, and the two-way audio lets me say “Hey! Off the couch!” in real time. They definitely recognize the voice of authority 😄.⸻🔧 Setup Was a BreezeInstallation was quick—just plug it in, connect it to Wi-Fi through the Tapo app, and you’re good to go. The app itself is super easy to use, and lets me view live video, access recordings, and adjust settings with zero hassle.⸻💾 Storage Options = Total ControlI love that I can choose between cloud storage or a local microSD card (I opted for the SD card—no subscription fees, thank you very much!). Playback is smooth and easy to navigate whenever I want to review footage.⸻🗣️ Alexa Integration & Two-Way TalkIt works perfectly with Alexa, and the two-way audio has come in handy more times than I can count. Whether it’s reminding the contractors to close the back door or telling my dog to stop chewing my shoes, this camera gives me instant access to what matters.⸻🏡 Final Thoughts:This camera gives me total peace of mind, whether I’m managing a home project or just checking on the pets while I’m away. The quality, features, and ease of use make it an absolute must-have for any household. If you want reliable eyes on your space (and a bonus speaker for pet pep talks), this is the one. Highly recommend!

Great camera...
If you are like me, new to the security camera game and haven't had a camera before, then this is for you. First of all, the price. This camera is worth more than what we are paying for. I can't comment on durability or longevity yet because I've only had it for a few days but it is nice on the quality side. The design is great. It is lightweight and plastic, particularly the base and stem, but for use indoors, that doesn't bother me at all. The camera is adjustable and wall mountable, so you can get the angle you are needing. The motion detection is great. I left the settings where they were when I received the camera just to get a feel of the distance it picks up at. Well, it picks up traffic from the street, but only large vehicles such as the FedEx, Ryder, orthe garbage trucks. It doesn't pick up normal cars and pick up trucks when they pass by (we had a thunderstorm last night and it picked up the lightning which was pretty cool to watch on the playback). I may change the settings one back so I don't pick up that little bit of traffic, but honestly it doesn't bother me yet.Sound quality is good. I can hear movement around my door pretty clearly and the view of the camera is great even though it's showing at 720. You can change this to 1080, but I have it set at auto and right now that's fine with me.It picks up movement very quickly. I locked my truck through my fob while watching through the camera and there was almost no lag.I really like this camera and highly recommend it. I plan on buying a few more asap.

Great
This camera/motion detectors awesome! Picture is pretty good. I set up the motion detector and alarm. When I get home I go in the app and set it to "home mode" to disarm alarm and constant motion detection alarms so they don't drive me crazy. When I leave the house I go in app and put it in the "away from home" mode. That turns on alarms and motion detectors so I get notifications if someone tiggers them coming into home. When i watch live videos on the app I can hear very clearly people talking. I can push speaker botton to talk to whoever is in my home. The app is easy to use. I did have some trouble getting one of the cameras to connect. But after a few tries it did. I do have wifi issues so could have been the issue. Anyways the alarm is pretty loud. I open my front door to test it and the camera pointed at it was triggered. My only grip is the alarm only goes of for 30 seconds. It goes on and off in 30 second cycles. A continuous alarm would be better. But it's not a real security system so good for what it is. The alerts on my phone are loud so if someone breaks in I'll be alerted immediately and can call police. I highly recommend.

Fully featured nice little camera for the price. Get SD cards!
Inexpensive but great quality, this little camera packs in a ton of features including night vision and person detection. I've put two of these up now: garage and sunroom and had them in operation for a few months. I purchased a couple of memory cards to go along with them because I don't want to pay the subscription costs and I'm wary of having the footage in the cloud. The person detection is a little hit and miss. Often it'll pick up the movement of cars or tree branches and sometimes it identifies it correctly as "movement" but a good amount of time it thinks it's a person. There's also an "Obstruction detected" notification, which is less frequently wrong but still occasionally triggers when there's seemingly nothing there or if the camera gets knocked. You can set up exclusion zones, turn off notifications, or turn on privacy mode but that kind of defeats the object. That aside, the picture quality is great. Doesn't seem to hog the bandwidth on the wifi and the lag time from live to the app is about what I'd expect given that it's going over the internet.
