I just purchased a farm that has been laying fallow for several years, and I found the soil pH to be between 6.8 and 7.1 overall, which is perfect for alfalfa. It is also useful for testing moisture and finding the sunlight levels in different areas. It is not designed to measure liquids, however. I really like this meter.

The build quality was great. You could drop this from a rooftop and it’d survive. Cleaning the probe's takes just a quick wipe l. However when it came to functionality I had to knock some stars off. The gauge for soil moisture level only gave 4 levels, very wet, wet, dry, very dry. I needed to know exact numbers to adjust the levels so with that I returned it to get one that gave numerical data

This device make testing potted plants easy. Less messy than sticking your finger in the soil. This device has great function and will recommend to any home gardener.
