instructions inadequate
Instructions are written in "translated" English from Chinese. Should have gotten someone fluent in English to do the translation. Consequently, was forced to look at u tube videos for help but couldn't find one for this exact lens. The mounting clip does not hold the lens flush with the phone's lens. There is absolutely no explanation about what to do or how to use the rubber diaphragm that is included. The only reason I gave this 1 star is that I can't do zero stars, or even better negative # stars. The telephoto lens works well by itself.

This zoom lens is pretty cool for the price! It clips onto my phone easily and lets me get some awesome close-up shots. The image quality is decent, though you need a steady hand for the best results.

I am on the fence.
I got this, because early this morning, I took some photos with the standard camera on my phone. And the focus was not as detailed as I would have wished for. I figured a lens that I could use to zoom in, would add the chefs kiss to my photo, that I wanted. As of right now, I am not completely satisfied. I will be doing some more testing to see if I can make it work for what I want. The first photo, with the blue edge on the moon is what I took with this lens. And the second photo is what I captured with the standard camera on my phone. I will update, after I have tried some more photos.

Using this for whale watching!
I'm an ocean guy who loves the beach. Whenever I see marine life far away, I miss out on taking good pictures. This product has allowed me to take far pictures on dry land. It takes some time to get it to adjust it, but the payoff if awesome.

Disappointing
It works, more or less. It's awkward and time-consuming trying to mount the lens on a phone, and it you wanted to photograph wildlife, the critter will probably have left the scene by the time you get the lens in position. Also, you don't have options as to magnifying power -- it's one size fits all. The slightest motion of your hands, trying to hold the phone steady, is amplified by the distances involved, so that it is difficult to get a clear shot. But the reason I ultimately returned this product is that I was never able to get it clearly in focus. All the photos I took were a bit murky, no matter how I struggled with the focus adjustment.

Hard to use
I bought for an upcoming trip to photograph birds. First, you have to find the lens on your phone for telephoto by covering the other lenses with your finger. Ok fine. But then you have to adjust it 194 times. The lens doesn’t sit flush against the back of the phone and all you do is fuss and move it constantly get the lens centered over the phone camera lens. Then you tighten it bit it’s still not flush, and the image is not crisp and does not fill the frame. Can you take a photo? Yeah, I guess. Will it be a good photo? Probably not. And, as far as birds go, by the time you get everything adjusted, the bird will have left, mated, raised their young, and flown south for the winter. Item is going back.

Not really on the fly set up.
This does give significant magnification. It is not as set up on the fly as you may think because you need to adjust to phone lense. Should use a tripod.
