Lenovo Tab M8 Gen 4 (2024) Review – Great Travel Tablets for Kids
We purchased two of these tablets for our kids while traveling, and overall, they exceeded expectations. They’re a bit slow out of the box due to bloatware, but once cleaned up, the performance improves noticeably. Battery life is a standout—it easily lasted through an 8-hour flight with constant use and still had juice left. One of the biggest pluses is the superior parental controls compared to Kindle Kids tablets. You get more flexibility in managing content and screen time, which gave us peace of mind while traveling. The only real frustration isn’t with the device itself but with the Android/Google ecosystem. U.S.-based accounts don’t support family sharing for purchased movies, so we had to install an adult account and log in manually every time the kids wanted to watch a movie we had bought for them. Setting this up was more complicated than expected.Still, for the price and portability, this tablet is a solid buy. Perfect size for travel, durable enough for kids, and once customized, it becomes a reliable companion for family trips.

SLOW and a downgrade over gen 2, but has its uses.
Worse than gen 2 of the same product.THE GOOD! AND WHAT TO USE IT FOR!If you're looking for a tablet to view camera live-feed on or something similar. A very non demanding simple task i.e. checking emails, super light browsing, or watching your cameras and having this hanging by the door - GREAT TABLET (IF you buy it on a discount)55$ on prime day, for this tablet? with a case? BARGAIN!It's slower and worse than Amazon tablets, BUT at least it has a normal android OS and no ads.THE BADI have gen 2 lenovo m8, this is gen 4 of m8. and it's a downgrade...Gen 2 has - better materials - metal back plate.Better cameraBetter screen resolutionMore RAM (3GB)Gen 4 has - worse materials - plastic.Worse cameraWorse screen resolutionLess RAM (2GB)It's a downgrade. It's slow. It's laggy. The new OS is just awful too.It won't be a good experience, rather - save money for a Samsung A9 or Xiaomi Redmi tab if you want a good, responsive, fast tablet. This isn't it....

It does basic things super awesome. Good battery life
So I know reviews can be a little conflicting, And I guess it depends what you're trying to do with this thing. If you look at it from a gaming tablet, it's probably a no. But for internet and videos and what my intention is to make it a e-reader for my kid, this is flipping awesome!. I also was using the thing super heavy setting it up installing different programs and I had the Wi-Fi on, it was installing a lot, the screen was on almost the entire time, and it only dropped 11%. I believe the tablet was saying that in the instructions it would get 16 hours, kind of makes sense. I also imagine once the Wi-Fi is turned off and my kid is just using it for e-reading, the life for the battery will probably be even longer. This is like 15 steps better than the Kindle fire stuff. I can't stand those things. This tablet I could expect more immediate responses from it when trying to install and run basic programs. And this was just the model that had two gigs of RAM so if you're getting one that has more than that, it should be a pretty pleasant experience. It feels sturdy enough, sound qualities pretty decent. I disabled the camera on it because my kids not going to use it that way. Unfortunately I can't vouch for the picture quality. I'm sure it's okay though. The 10-watt charger is also nice to have as a slight upgrade to the normal chargers. Can definitely tell it helps pick up charging speed a bit.

The worst
Horribly slow this was the worst thing I have ever bought. Not even fit for a child.

Good, inexpensive, basic, quality build.
Good, basic, inexpensive, high build quality. Comes with a pretty good drop friendly case and screen protector, that'll save you around $30 right there
