Fun retro gamer with a familiar, upright form factor
I've recently dived into retro gaming and have been trying different models. This Plus model offers a very familiar, upright form factor that mimics the Gameboys of yesterday. What I liked:- Comes packed with a ton of games right out of the box- Two memory card slots for plenty of storage- The controls are super responsive and quick- The screen is sharp and colorful, with smooth gameplay- Battery life has been solid so far- Compact size that’s convenient for most users- Hardware handles the games well with no major issuesA few downsides:- The default operating system is average; you can upgrade it easily by installing a new one for a better experience- Lacks an analog joystick so it could be limiting on some games- The SD card included isn’t great quality, so upgrading it is a good idea

Mine died after 2 months.
Boots into the Anbernic logo and then goes black. I can see flickers of it working when I hit the power button. Not sure if the screen connector is faulty or what. Just sad.

Absolutely incredible
This thing is AWESOME. Got this because my son has been interested in a lot of retro games. I like telling him stories of the games I used to play as a kid, and he's been looking for ways to enjoy some of them. Emulators are cool, but are missing some of that nostalgic feeling. This absolutely solves it. Theres SO many great games on this thing, and it's organized by system. The controls are nice and fluid, and there are even bumper buttons on the back. Its well built, has a decent battery life, and a nice crisp screen. Much cleaner than the old systems I used to play with back in the day. There's a secondary SD card slot, too, so there's potential for expansion. I'll have to track down the right kind of HDMI cable so we can plug it into the TV and all reminisce together.
