Fun to assemble
This owl is of great quality, even if it is off brand. The construction was easy, albiet a few parts made no sense at all if I recall properly. The owl is a respectable size, but the base seems a little off and doesnt support the owl well if you orientate the wings in a certain way.

Love All the Moving Pieces!
I never thought I would have a steampunk parrot in my home, but now I do! This parrot kit is a little challenging to build. The most frustrating part is the lack of clear labeling on the bags of pieces. I realized quickly that I would need pieces from multiple bags to complete the build so I took the time to open up everything and sorted by color and then by size so we could find them when needed later. My nieces needed help from adults to follow the instructions. The instruction booklet shows step-by-step instructions in color to help as much as possible, but it is easy to get confused, especially if you are not used to building Lego sets. I recommend that you build this parrot with your child to avoid frustration and be prepared to be flexible and rebuild, if necessary! The pieces snapped together well and the parrot seems sturdy once it is built. It is not a toy, but my nieces has been able to pick it up and move it around without pieces falling off, which is great. There are also lots of moving parts that almost turn this into a toy after a successful build - the beak opens, the head rotates, the wings and the tail move up and down, and the pistons in the engine on the bird's back move up and down by turning a gear. This set is a great value and has provided hours of fun! It would make a great gift for any child.

Parrot Blocks
This parrot faux Lego is great. I have teens who enjoy block sets just for fun, and this one is a great option for a great price. The colors are bright and happy, and the finished product is a very cute bird. It's challenging enough to be entertaining, not difficult enough to frustrate. The instructions are clear enough to get everything together.

Bigger than I expected
Cute bird, I like the colors. Perfect for a gift, it kept my kid busy for a bit, it makes it a little more difficult when you have to open all the bags at once verses being separated though, but I know a lot of these off brand ones are like that. It's bigger than I expected it or be, and you can move the wings around.

Standard size "Lego Style" pieces (where 2 stud block measures 16 mm)
This review is for: CAEROKEERL 490PCS Parrot (Macaw)Classic Building Blocks Set, $30 on amazon.Disclaimer. I have not yet built this kit so my observations are pre-assembly. I cannot speak to how hard/easy the build is or whether you might have problems during the build, e.g. missing pieces or how tightly the pieces fit together.Instruction manual measures 5-1/2” X 8-1/4”, is 48 pages long and has 151 assembly steps. The images are large enough for easy reading and interpretation. All nine of the bags with the pieces are numbered ‘1’ but each has a code like “T4006-x” where “x” is a number from 1 to 9. The “Helpful” tips on manual page iv instruct that you “build according to the serial number” which means open the bags in the order T4006-1, T4006-2, etc. There is one loose plate that measures 1-1/4” X 1-7/8”. It is a gold plaque that says “PARROT” and gives the final build dimension specs. It sits on the baseplate in front of the bird. Some of the pieces have printing on them like, “In the 1980’s and early 1990’s”, “Davinci Parrot”, or “Steam”. Since I have not yet assembled the kit these words seem arbitrary. Maybe after assembly they might make more sense.
