Out of Chinatown LA we bought a turtle for a very inexpensive price but it came in a small plastic container. We went ahead and did a little research and we bought this and we noticed he's happier he can crawl out of the water into the heat light or he can go under the big tree or he can crawl back into the water whenever he wants or he could even go into the cave or he's hidden alone he will do that sometimes. Just don't let the water level get too low because he will burn up the filter motor. I did this three times already my bad. I replaced them with different motors and I actually did it two more times my bad what can I say. I think this is a great system for your little turtle now because it's my first one he will grow up but so far he has gotten a little bigger after a few months and he's still able to crawl into the cave underneath the platform on the right side I like this I think it's a great idea much better than just a see-through tray to keep him in. ...

Went to the pet store after finding a tiny turtle in our pool in the drain and was just going to keep it for a little while until we made a decision on whether to keep it plus to small to let loose. This was the perfect size and price.

The instructions were lacking. It was unclear whether the cord from the filter should be submerged in water. All the photos clearly lack a cord. The filter is not a real functional device to clean the water. Our baby turtle pooped only once and this filter stirs up the debris and the blue filter cleans nothing. I will try to find a carbon filter and see what I can do with it. The rocks are like chalk and the plant area is a waste of space with water below that a turtle can't use. I am hoping that 25 and 50w are enough, and I am doubting this is really UVA and UVB. This is to be expected from China. Perhaps it's better to buy from a reputable pet supply than this.

I’ve gone through a couple of turtle homes and this is by far my favorite. Comes with everything you need and deep enough for smaller turtles to swim. I like that there is an eating area, this helps keep the water cleaner.
