The electric lift is worth a little extra cost.
We bought this electric lift for my daughter. She couldn't support her body in the chair lift. The electric lift made it possible for her mother to lift her. A sling with leg straps helped a lot with no upper body strength. We tried the walking sling, but the arm on this lift is too short for anyone over 5'6" tall. The lift is very solid and well made. We had no problems with the transitions. Two issues to work with is one, the power cord wants to stop the wheels and two, 5 inches of clearance is required under where the person is to land. This was a game changer for moving an immobile person.

Works well
Worked well for my wife. Seemed to be a little damaged, but we made it work.

Worked greatI
The lift worked wonderfully, but the cord always got in the way. So I found a cordless one, and wanted to return the one with the cord. But had a horrible time with the company they would not except it back. I was satisfied with the lift, but was not satisfied with the return policies that the company placed on it. They would not take the lift back so now I have two of them.

Bad Wheel
One of the locking swivel wheels does not swiviel. I sent the company a email & hope they send me a replacement wheel. I will be happy to rate when I get the replacement. The shipment was one day late also. UPDATE The company did send a replacement wheel plus an extra wheel for my problem. I am happy with the lift & hope it works well when I need it.

Medical Need
My son had not got to go on vacation because we did not have a Hoyer lift, and this one worked wonderfully.

This lift is great, well made, and I like the sling that comes with it also.
Verty well made, haven't had it long enough to know how long the motor is good for, but initially, it does very well. Two things to be careful of: when moving over the patient, be aware of the low hanging jib's proximity to the patient's head. Second, always lock the wheels before beginning the lift, or it will move where you don't want it.

Can be a safety concern & can be easily unintentionally damaged due to power cords/cables
As another customer mentioned in a review the power cord and cable always does get in the way which is a safety hazard and also a danger to the Hoyer lift getting damaged fast and no longer working. Even with being cautious and holding the cord to avoid damage this makes it that much more difficult to also safely use this item. This hoyer only lasted my nursing staff 62 days of use until it no longer had any power. After it died inspected it and noticed damage due to the cord. Not eligible for a return nor was expecting it although would really appreciate help with exploring the possibility of receiving or purchasing the correct replacement part. Hoping for a quick miracle from company or seller if that is not possible this is a $600 loss/ cost for 62 days which hurts as it is most challenging being a senior citizen on fixed income that only goes up a few dollars once in January each year along with not having a choice but to private pay for DME (Durable Medical Equipment) as rarely do you win the battle against having your insurance company approve an authorization from a provider for paying a % of your DME never mind these days finding a provider to even accept senior citizen insurance due to the low reimbursements as many want private pay or commercial insurance for more money. Have reached out to Amazon customer service with no luck nor any luck with phone calls and google searches for the possible damaged part once again hoping for a miracle to get it repaired and running.
