NO MORE LOST NOTES ON BACKS OF ENVELOPES!
LOVE this erasable note pad. Easy to write on, easy to read in normal lighting (does not have a screen light), and easy to erase. This version is double sided, which is very helpful when you need extra writing space. It has a lock feature on the erasing feature so erroneous erasing does not occur. The pen is magnetic and attaches to the side of the notepad, though not very strongly. Significantly reduces the amount of paper used for notetaking throughout the day.

A good grown-up version, but needs bright light
It's similar to the cheap LCD drawing tablets for kids, except the strokes are thinner, similar to an ink pen. The stroke size is controlled by the screen itself, not the writing utensil. I tried writing some text on a kid's version and on this. The kid's version is comically bold, but on this product it looks like good hand-written text. It's a little hard to see (they're not joking about using it in a well-lit area), but it's certainly usable and enjoyable. I would love to see a version with higher contrast (maybe pure white background instead of teal?), or even a backlit model one day. But I'm still glad I purchased this. Similar to a pencil, you need to use a moderate but reasonable amount of pressure to get the full stroke width. The drawable area comes very close to the edge of the product (like 2 mm), a very nice touch. The buttons feel a little cheap, but not bad. The writing experience is great. I enjoy drawing lines, math problems, or even just fine doodling. One tiny issue, the magnet is coming out of the side of the stylus. I need to glue it back in.

Perfect little notepad thing.
This is the perfect little note pad for forgetful people like myself. It's definitely cheap, but for what it is I've found it to be pretty handy. Sure the button placement isn't the best, and the stylus has nowhere to stick it (I velcro'd mine to the side of the tablet thing) but this thing is awesome. It works well for what it is, you can sit and doodle and clear it, when you get a random idea or have something you don't want to forget, just jot it down. Then when you want to clear it just push the button. It's durable, I've stepped on it I've dropped it and it's fine, I thought I'd have spots that wouldn't clear but no it keeps going. I've had it for probably 6 months now and it's cheap and effective.

Only lasts 2months
I use these LCD writing tablets for work. Unfortunately, they only last about 2 months before the "ink" starts to appear smudged and the writing becomes illegible. I bought 4 of the same brand (from 2 sellers) over the course of 6 months. I tried changing the battery and swapping out the stylus pen for a new stylus pen of the same brand. No luck. Big disappointment

Replaced pen and paper
I like that it has two sides and that I can erase either side with a different button. Like paper, it doesn't have a backlight but it is easy to read in the full light. I like that it is lightweight, doesn't smudge, there is no ink to worry about and it is a simple way to take a quick note.

GREAT idea, but loses 2 stars for drawbacks
I got this as an alternative to more expensive models that came with features that I didn't need. GREAT design - simple & elegant, but has 2 major drawbacks: 1) doesn't seem to be a way of turning it off, besides removing the battery. 2) Can't erase just part of the screen. I DO like the physical lock switch that prevents you from accidently erasing a screen! I realize that for only $20, you can't expect everything, but I'd be willing to pay $30 for an on/off switch & the ability to erase part of a screen.NOT RECOMMENDED, unless you understand what you're getting for the $.

Great for keeping score in games
I purchased one for when I play in TCG tournaments. Not because I'm competitive, but because I like to analyze my score between moves and reinforce a mental model of my progression. To see if my skills are improving vis-à-vis the variance in my score deltas. It's simple enough for that and doesn't waste paper. It's also small enough to fit into my bag.I wouldn't rely on it for drawing but for simple and frequent note taking that doesn't involve archival, it's perfect.

Simple Product
This replaces paper post-it notes at my desk. I put it to use for temporary note taking, next to my phone. It is for temporary notes only, but a quick message or reminder or a fast calculation, or the to-dos that come up throughout the workday, it is very useful for that. It has no memory. It is just a scratch pad, a chalkboard if you will. That's what it does and it is useful as above. Oh, also if you are giving fast notes back and forth with someone such as while they are on the phone, this works very well for that as it erases fast and becomes instantly reusable.
