Film Masters has released a 2-disc Blu-ray set of Creature With The Blue Hand (1967) and Web Of The Spider (1971). Both titles are presented here in their US release versions with English dubbed audio tracks.Blu-ray video and audio quality: The disc case artwork touts, “Scanned In 4K From 35mm Archival Elements.” Online research suggests the source elements are 35mm prints. So, keep your expectations in check because neither title looks stunning, but both look good and are very watchable. Considering the DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0ch is an English dub for both titles, they sound fine though hiss is present. Optional English subtitles are provided for both titles and for the audio commentaries.Blu-ray special features: This release is absolutely packed with special features. The product description here lists most of the features found on each disc. I will add that the commentary tracks for each title are with Kim Newman and Stephen Jones. I found both of their commentaries to be informative and entertaining. And, there’s a wonderful 22-page illustrated booklet that’s also included.This is the fourth Film Masters Blu-ray release that I’ve purchased, and they have quickly become one of my favorite boutique disc labels. The exhaustive efforts put into their releases deserve nothing less than a 5-star rating.
