Love this pochade palette
I am absolutely in love with this pochade box. I have had this now for about 7 months and I use it all the time. It looks fantastic and I get oohs and aahs everytime I use it where others can see it. The walnut wood is a beautiful color and the unit is very functional and I have had no problems with stability. I use it mostly as my main palette in my studio, but am looking forward to better weather so I can use it en plein air. I agree with another reviewer that the brush holes aren't as useful as I would like and the ability for this areas to be used for some other purpose might be good. Another reviewer added a magnetic sheet to the upper white lid palette which I think is genius. You should incorporate this into your next edition. I plan on adding this feature to mine immediately. I also wish I could find replacement half pans that fit into this perfectly. There are times when I would like to swap out the colors I generally use and add less common ones. This would allow more versatility without adding additional items to carry when working outdoors or away from my studio.

Great companion for creative travels
I have purchased many of these travel boxes looking for the perfect one. I found it here. This has everything I was looking for. I've taken it on a trip to Mexico, I use it on my lunch breaks and everywhere around town. I haven't tried it with a tripod. I use it mainly on my lap or with a table when available. It's well constructed and looks amazing. I've learned Instead of the clip I keep a few small magnets in the brush tray to adhere my paper to back. If you're doing a larger piece, lay flat and use the lid as a pallet. It is a little on the heavy side being Walnut. Overall I definitely recommend.

Well built and portable
This is a nice little unit. It holds 6” x 9” paper. It is intended to be mounted on a tripod. I use mine on the breakfast bar, found it very too heavy, and used self-adhesive Velcro to mount it temporarily to a heavier board. I now use it with 7” x 9” watercolor blocks and love it.

Great except for one design flaw
First, cute as a button, this is the most portable palette in my collection. Combine it with a water brush and small sketchbook and I can paint anywhere. I did tung oil seal the paint wells to make cleanup even easier but it wasn't hard to clean before. You can even wash it with soapy water, just rinse well and allow to air dry completely. Now for the flaw: the clip is not attached in any way when folded for storage. A small clip that could remain attached when folded would be better.

Best Pochade Easel I’ve Used!
I’m a professional artist and have used many plein air pochade easels - especially ones that cost $$$. This one is absolutely awesome! It fits perfectly on my tripod and I can use it for watercolor, acrylic or oil! Highly recommend!

Classy and compact.
Overall, this is a great kit and just what I wanted. I use it on my old 35mm camera tripod when I am in the field and on a tabletop when I just want to work or play. I wanted small and sturdy with flexibility. The size of a small laptop or tablet, I repurposed an old case as my studio on the road to carry the pochade and any peripherals like extra paper, towels, and other toys.My only suggested change might be to skip the brush holes. Make the space be a 'trench' for 3 watercolor blanks for value/dirty water use.

Terrible design... but it is cute, in case that matters.
This very attractive toy is unusable as it is. If used on a flat surface, it will tip over -- The easel section is far too heavy to be supported by the palette section... unless you lay it completely flat. If you want to use it on tripod, you will need to drill a new hole to reposition the mounting adapter -- the position as it is, could not be in a worse if you want your workspace to stay upright.Unfortunately, I was out of town, and missed the deadline for returns by 1 day. I sincerely hope to be granted an extension on the return policy... OR to be offered a useable replacement, in which case, I will happily re-review!
