I was impressed that the instructions had me pressing buttons asap. I even did my first with a piece of fabric as insert, it worked! I want to find out if it works with metal backings if I should order those parts. No gasket was included but it shows this option in instructions. I will try to update regarding that.

The media could not be loaded. I’m using this button maker as a starter practice for my small business. I’ve been asked by customers to make buttons from my current designs and this kit is good practice. It took me about 7 tries to finally get a proper button. The kit comes with supplies to make 100 buttons with a plastic backing. There’s also a round cutting tool that makes cutting out designs easier, it’s a lot easier and quicker to use than my cricut. My booklet with panda images to practice with arrived blank. I assume it’s a defect but I didn’t mind because I already have my own images to work with.A couple of tips: 1) use printer paper. The thinner the paper is, the better and easier it is to press. I tried cardstock and the buttons wouldn’t close properly. 2) When pressing into the backing, I recommend pushing and holding down the lever for about 15-30 seconds. Something about the longer hold gives the buttons a clean finish. I did this my first 6 tries and each time a part of the plastic cover was still hanging out.I’ve been making christmas buttons for family, as well.Overall, great kit. It’s definitely more a hobby quality machine but makes for good practice.

Works as designed with no issues.

This button maker gets the job done, it’s sturdy and extremely easy to use. Was able to make a button rather fast. I am noticing a slight slant in the button backs once adhered to the top portion of the button (hence the 4🌟 review) I have tried slanting the backs to get it straight, changing the orientation of the picture and bottoms but nothing seems to fix the issue. I wanted to believe it’s the blue stoppers on the sides that locks the maker in place but it’s not that, both stoppers are correctly placed. I’m going to keep playing with it to see if I could find my sweet spot with the maker. Would I buy another? Yes. You can make about 100 buttons in 20 mins tops if you have the orientation of the buttons correct.

I used this button maker for a few times. The mylar would work perfectly some times and not at all on others. Then the handle broke off completely as I was trying to press a button!

There's a big learning curve to this. I had to watch several YT videos of other brands to try to figure out how to use this because the instructions are just not clear. I have a cricut which makes it easy to create designs, but be expected to play with a lot of settings on your printer and cricut to figure out how to make a good button. The machine itself is sturdy and the buttons that come with it are decent.

I ordered this on a whim. I was recently on vacation and spent $20 on 4 button pins. I thought this would be a great way to make my own and not break the bank. It came with a lot of supplies. It was a little tricky at first but once you get the hang of it and know when to put the different pieces in, it was easy. I had fun making the ones i did and look forward to making a bunch more. This would be great for someone needing things to put in goody bags for a birthday party. Or maybe even to do as a gag gift, I did make a funny one for a friend. Its a super great gadget and fun too.
