Great!
Works great! Very heavy and sturdy! It comes well packaged ad didn’t have any damage to the product itself. Good to have in the garage for any landscaping you might be doing.

Broke!
Handle broke off after minimal use on regular dirt!!!!

Worked for 5 minutes
and then the handle broke just above the arch. Spouse welded it back together but have not tried to use it again.

Makes re-grading much easier
This hand tamper was indispensable when I was regrading around my foundation. This is the only tool I used to regrade. It was easy to assemble, durable and heavy, and does the job. I also filled in a ton of holes in my backyard with it. It's very easy to use, and me at 5'4 was able to tamp down the dirt well enough to regrade. Glad I got it.

Heavier duty than I expected
I didn't expect too much from this smaller tamper so I was pleasantly surprised when I picked up the box and it was way heavier than I thought it would be. It's well-made and easy to put together. The size is perfect for tamping down sand when we add some artificial grass to a small area on the side of our house, which is the main reason I ordered it.

PSA Dissapointed but there is a silver lining. Handle threads let go, Epoxy Before Use
After a few minutes of use, the threads in the handle were worn away and handle fell apart. Fortunately, I am a welder and can weld the handle together. On the postitive side, it's cheap, easy to assemble, and maybe if you immediately epoxy the handle together before use, it would likely work for a while and be a good deal. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend it for general use as it fell apart very quickly and required epoxy or welding to keep the handle together. With that said, if you are familiar with JB Weld epoxy or can weld light steel, it's a good buy. Plan to use and repair it...

Garden Steel Tamper Tool, 8'' x 8'' Tamper with Long Handle
This is a nice yard tool and comes in very handy with landscaping and other purposes. My husband has an easy time using it and appreciates the long handle.
