I love to garden and take care of plants, but I was clueless when it came to adding Bonsai into the mix. This book was phenomenally helpful in learning the basics about bonsai. It was super easy to navigate and gave step by step instructions as far as how to even begin with picking a bonsai, all the way to taking care of it, planting it, pruning it, and even shaping it to make it look its absolute best. There were tons of super helpful tips and tricks from people experienced and well-versed with bonsai. My favorite part was the help with troubleshooting. This gave me the confidence to not only care for my bonsai but how to also tackle common challenges and avoid often made mistakes. I absolutely recommend this to anyone looking to add bonsai to their garden, from newbies to seasoned planters!

When I first read the title and the beginning of the book I was confused then I realized they were speaking about a tree!! I love that this book gives you a detailed guide on how to care for and sculpt trees. I never knew there were so many different types of bonsai trees. Again this the first time I even heard of a bonsai tree. Beautiful artwork throughout. Very informative especially to new comers!!

The media could not be loaded. It’s more of a guide reading chapter book. This isn’t the kinda of book that I was wanting. I don’t like that the pictures are black and white print, I wish that it would show colored pictures. The book that you want to get is The Complete Book of Bonsai by Harry Tomlinson. You will not regret buying this book.

This book takes you step by step, even has illustrations for different techniques for beginner bonsai enthusiasts! With the step by steps its virtually impossible to mess up your trees! A MUST FOR BEGINNERS!

Great tips.

I was hoping to come away with something more than a very broad overview of bonsai. I'm not sure I learned anything I hadn't already researched on my own. This book defines some of the basic styles of bonsai, and some definitions and so forth, but it doesn't seem to expand much on what you may learn on Wikipedia. I'm not sure if I was hoping for more of a step by step, or more/better images. I know I was hoping for a starting point, and didn't feel like I came away with that.
