We've had a similar portable air conditioner in our bedroom for 5-6 years before it started leaking. We had gotten used to having a nice, cool room for sleeping, so we immediately took to Amazon looking for a replacement. After reading a few reviews and comparing different options, we went with this Air Choice unit. It is a great replacement for what we had.First off, the assembly of the ducting and window piece was easy. I particularly like that it comes with multiple parts so it will fit either horizontally or vertically. It also has a wingnut fastener to keep the parts from sliding apart.The other thing I really like is that the drain is about halfway up on the back side of the unit, vs. at the bottom. This allowed me to set it up to constantly drain into a bucket with the included hose. No more wheeling the unit from the bedroom to the bathroom, then lifting it into the tub to drain.We used it last night for the first time, and it got the room cool quickly and kept it cool. It is exactly what we need.

I bought it. I was skeptical.....I left it stand stright up for 6-10 hours before I used it, to make sure all the compresser oil was where it's supposed to be...the unit is ice cold, and pretty quiet, it's on wheeles, just buy it.

Was working fine in my game room with hard floor, cooled down really quick and kept it cool. Moved into my bedroom and now it keeps shutting off. As a hot sleeper that doesn’t have a working AC unit and has low tolerance for heat, this is pissing me off. Elevated on my nightstand and attached the drainage on it. Will update if it works. Also, this unit is not quite in the slightest so I wouldn’t recommend if you are a light sleeper.Update: Alrighty it’s working a lot better. Either what I did helped it or it just needed to be set at a lower temperature and it worked. Still not going to give it full star as I am not too crazy about the drainage. Would have been better if it had a compartment in the inside it could drain into and I could take it out to dump the water. Other than that, this thing works.

I love it. I'm so ready for summer now this gets my room real cold fast. Definitely recommend best buy for a good price.

I bought this for my 2 car garage. I bought larger BTU then recommended thinking it would be great. It is cool if you are standing right at it, but behind it where the hot air is pumped out is horrendous. Def. needs a better insulated exhaust pipe. Really only cool for about 2-3 feet in front of it. I put a fan in font of it and it helps a little but the machine actually heats up the air it is pumping out the back offsetting most of any cool air it is pumping out.Might actually cool things down a bit if the garage is full insulated, but don't expect a whole lot from this rather large machine.Once it gets cooler outside and I can tolerate it being off to work on better exhaust and insulating the garage a little better, I hope this will perform better next summer.

This unit has much more power than stated. Can cool larger than advertised room immediately. Went from sweating to freezing in 5 mins

I purchased this for my small bedroom. Installation is simple, and technical support is actually very helpful. This a/c works almost too well. There is some obvious a/c system noise. But I actually enjoy it while trying to sleep. I did have an issue with the unit at first. But the seller sprang into action and quickly rectified the matter. I would definitely purchase again.

So far it is solving my issues with my home AC not being able to handle the heat from my electronics in my living room (20'x30' with a 15' tall ceiling). It is a nice balancer to keep my central AC from running too much because it only reads the living room temperature. My only complaint is the window adaptor kit is...well, it is not designed very well. Without sealing it yourself, it leaves gaps that would otherwise allow the outside air/bugs to enter even with the window closed. I sealed the holes with caulk and it seems to have worked. It is the slider portion of the design that creates that gap (one side is larger than the other).
