A great companion to starting developing Web Apps in Django - a wonderful web framework
Earlier I had my hands on Blazor and React, but did not stop there, I also wanted to get known some web frameworks that have been around for a while. I was not disappointed, nor was I surprised - Django delivers and over-delivers!Programming in Django (I opted for a DigitalOcean droplet) I felt like I am driving a premium vehicle with a rich array of features a knob press away compared to some other Web Frameworks.Again, I really liked Django: it is a versatile and powerful Web Framework with almost any feature just an import directive away! You do not even feel like you are writing in Python. In short, this book is a great companion to starting developing Web Apps in Django, it was the key to my success. The practical part of the book begins with building a personal blog website: who knows maybe you will use to your advantage while learning! The journey continues with building a social website. It was fun! A lot of the material there rotated around the user authentication that I found being essential to such Web apps. From there we go to creating an online shop: as you guessed it: a very much in demand and useful skill. So you are in a good company. However, the learning journey does not stop there, it continues to building an E-Learning Platform. This is a splendid and welcome part. Besides, the book does not end with only these Web Apps, it has more. Lastly it obviously includes how to finally go live.My final thoughts:The best and most liked by me chapter was on tracking user actions. It is very uncommon in the other books, but the author made a correct choice. The book author nicely summarizes the chapters with useful and succinct "good to know"s that would be used in the future for a quick look up or refreshes. If I were asked what could be improved is probably the length of several chapters in the book. The other is the absence (probably to keep the book size lower) the unit testing. You will enjoy both the book and Django!

A must have!
This book is a must have! I have Antonio's Django 4 by Example book and it single-handedly taught me how to complete a full stack Django project. Concise and consistent coding examples, along with steps. Highly recommend!

Fantastic introduction to Django
The book is laid out very logically: all the chapters concentrate on one topic, for instance building an online shop, or implementing social authentication. This makes it easy to follow the book and you keep building your skills as you go through the book. The topics covered are all very practical and solve the kind of problems developers face in their day-to-day jobs. The table of contents also outline the topics covered in each chapter in detail which makes it easy to find certain topics. The topics cover also relative well known topics such generating PDFs so it’s overall a very good reference book on many topics giving you high-quality examples. The book covers many of Django’s features and even experienced developers will find new features and interesting things in the book. The book covers also topics such as Docker albeit not very deeply which is understandable given the book is about Django. Perhaps some of the features could have actually been removed to make the book more approachable? The code examples are clear and the changed parts are highlighted so it’s easy to understand what has changed. The code is also in GitHub which is great, although there is only one branch and few commits so you cannot see how the app was built. The book is about Django so you learn mostly about Django if you are already proficient in Python but people who don’t have that much experience on Python will definitely learn new Python skills as well. The author also gives his views and hints every now and then of certain software topics which is good. All in all, this is a fantastic introduction to Django and there’s a lot of content in it (over 760 pages!). Even though it’s geared towards people new to Django, it still works as a great reference book for more experienced developers.
