You need this for vertical planting
I initially have 24 cactus cut ups. I got carried away and bought more cut ups cos this things just have so many more spaces to fill! :) I love it! Great quality. Great for outdoor spaces if you don't have that massive land to plant. Go vertical.Get one today.

Does not work for outdoor plants
These do not hold moisture at all. All my plants dried out within a week. I watered plants daily.

Ok I guess
Good strong fabric. Looks amazing when you first put it together with all the spots filled with herbs amd flowers. Not so easy to water. Hard to keep moist in hot weather. Feel like I had to water twice a dayAwesome idea that just doesn't work

needs an irrigation system and should be used for small plants. cool thing
Something like this should be used in conjunction with one of those solar irrigation systems, because it dries out easily, but it is a nice if one keeps that in mind. I wanted this to hang on the fence of the duck run, and it works well for that with plants in it. I like it.

Thick Material
Used this for an outdoor vertical garden with herbs and strawberries. The material is so thick and sturdy that it held dirt and water in all of the pockets. While the fabric is thick, it still let water through which made for some very happy plants. I love that you can connect it to either a wall or the fence. I plan to purchase more next growing season

Fun for something different, a few problems
Mostly, I am pleased with this vertical garden wall planter. It gives plants a different way to be seen and is fun to have a different way to present the plants. It is also relatively inexpensive, so even if it doesn't last many seasons, you won't be out much money (we will leave the environmental cost out of the equation though). The main problems I've found aren't totally unexpected. Although the fabric does indeed drain well (I can't imagine having this anywhere other than outside as it would make a mess inside), it also dries out really well...sometimes too well. Each pocket doesn't hold much soil and with the black color of the felt, when the sun hits it, it dries quickly. I would highly recommend putting a product like soil moist in with your planting medium unless you like crispy plants or monitor the moisture level assiduously. On the other hand, when the unit gets wet with the pockets planted, it is really, really heavy. The grommets for hanging are staying in so far, but the cloth sure does look strained along the top on rainy days. This is what is making me think that the unit may not last indefinitely. The seams between the pockets are all looking good so far though.
