This is an expensive item so bought with a leap of faith. I have looked around and spoken to window blind/ curtain experts who were unable to supply anything like it.It’s a diy project as it requires putting together and cutting to size and fitting into or onto the opening.I am very experienced and have good skills but this was tricky. The instructions are poor. Cutting it in error could be costly so I was very careful.The finished and installed item is EXCELLENT.Easy to use and does the job. So much better than hanging strips or flapping plastic.Also it’s almost see through.The white finish is perfect and blends with the white patio door frames.No more bees, flies or moths in the evening.Well recommended

I wish I hadn’t purchased this.Firstly the width of the window I had was 156 cm, the description stated that it was 160 cm, so was fully expecting to make a small cut. Unfortunately the actual product was 150 cm wide. As I had already started to cut the height of the product I only realised when I was going to make adjustments for width that the product had the wrong dimensions.Instructions that came with the product show 4 pictures saying measure, cut, install and you’re finished but with no other help. So I went onto the website and they only have instructions for a different product and in fact the pictures you see with the Allen key that looks very robust is nowhere to be seen in the product that you actually receive.Instructions that came with the product show for pictures saying measure cut and install but with no other help. So I went onto the website and they only have instructions for a different product and in fact the pictures you see with the Allen key that looks very robust is nowhere to be seen in the product that you actually receive.The unit is self is very sticky to pull and is not smooth at all, everything is dead straight that I even used a digital spirit level so the largest degree of discrepancy is 0.05 degrees.Then the icing on the cake after having to fill up the space with wood is that the unit doesn’t stay closed it’s as if there is a magnetic strip missing.I can only plead with you to take my experience seriously and avoid this product at all cost it is an absolute nightmare, I genuinely haven’t purchased such a poor product in all my life. This really should be sold as a DIY product that will really test your patience, I can tell you as a customer for over 20 years Amazon this is the worst product I have ever purchased.

This product is meant to be fitted in front of a patio door that is in a masonry recess, not flush with other windows as in a conservatory. I don’t think this is made clear enough from the description.The final result I managed to achieve is very good indeed, and equal to a door flyscreen costing three times the price. However, in my opinion, fitting it is not an experience for the fainthearted – the scope for accidentally ruining the product and wasting your money is large.If you dare to buy this product, read and re-read the instructions until you are absolutely clear on what is needed before you start cutting to size. The instructions are all in pictures, which take a lot of interpretation before you fully understand the meaning.

We have a patio door onto bedroom balcony arrangement, there a limited options available, don't like the sliding frame solution, didn't wish to see the middle frame where the two doors meet and have seen the sliding type doors on holiday apartments - they can be flimsy cheap things.This is effectively a roller-blind turned on its side - you don't really notice that it is there most of the time, it just appears you have tinted glass (a small reduction in daylight). Slides back under spring tension satisfyingly for full access for window cleaning etc.You need to be a competent DIY person with relatively simple tools to adapt to the size of your opening - take your time it's not rocket science but the time honoured and absolutely true advice is: measure twice cut once!TOP TIP: regardless of whether your door opening measures as a true square...you must cut the same length top and bottom guides to achieve a parallel dimension between the roller end and the latch end. This keeps an even tension on the mesh fabric avoiding any wave or floppiness in the mesh. Imagine pulling down a conventional window roller blind but only keeping your grip on one edge, rather than pulling in the middle - the roller fabric would distort. Because of the way this product latches on the sub-frame there is potential to have different tension in the top to the bottom if the roller cassette end is not perfectly parallel to the latch end. So as long as the 'handle' that you pull-out has even tension on the top and bottom the mesh is evenly tensioned and all is good.I was more concerned about the strength of the fixings that I needed to be - all you're doing is retaining the thing in place so the screws don't need to do a lot of work other than keep the unit square in the opening and resist twisting etc.I sealed around the perimeter of mine with white silicone frame sealant (but not the cill - needs to drain freely) as there could be a small mosquito tempting gap? But as stated above - it's more important to get it fitted true and square than to fill every slight gap.Looks smarter in the end that expected, not too noticeable as a retro-fitted screen.If I had to install another I would look into some sort of white compressible seal / plastic flap that could be fixed to the back of the frame that would automatically accommodate gaps around the unit when offered into final position without needing sealant, maybe.In summary - I delayed purchasing as it could be regarded as a lot of money for what you get - but as a replacement for the loose mesh we had flapping in the breeze before there is no comparison and I'm very pleased with the outcome.
