Tough but flexible
These are definitely nice work gloves but I don’t know that I would use them for all the other things mentioned in the description. They don’t have a liner, so after a little while they’re not the most comfortable gloves in the world. They are indeed made of a nice-thickness leather, but that also means that they don’t breathe very well. Still, I’m not knocking them at all, if you think of the cheapest leather work-gloves you can buy at your lhs, these are better. They’re probably not as tough and durable as the most expensive gloves you can buy, but somewhere in between… perfectly suited for simple handy-work, or basic yard jobs. The best thing about the gloves is the tightening strap that makes them feel a little more secure (although I’ve never had work-gloves fall off), and perhaps keeps a little dirt out. As I mentioned, they’re pretty thick, so don’t expect a lot of dexterity with them. I’d say these are a cut above most regular work-gloves. One simple thing you can do to improve their durability is spray them with waterproofing silicone spray (the kind you’d use for waterproofing shoes). That will help them repel splashed water and dirt, and should help them last longer.

Good glove
Great fit. My hand measures XL, but have short fingers. The Lg fit well with good finger dexterity, with a little tugging to get them on. Thicker leather than most that will probably hold up well for handling tough things UNLESS you do what I did...grinding metal and MIG welding. Only lasted two days before index finger threads burned off (from the grinding.) These would have been perfect for me if they were made with Kevlar thread. I have a new pair of lined MIG gloves which are so thick that I can't feel the trigger, so they will keep their "new" look. Sooo, still searching for short (no cuff) unlined gloves with Kevlar thread. Good gloves I think, but NO grinding!

Good thick leather crappy string.
Good thick leather…working with brush and stretching barb wire fence no problem. Little string tensioner is crap. Cut it off and keep going. Other then that once you sweat in them once they literally fit like a glove. Will buy again and just cut the tensioner string off. Yellow dye doesn’t bleed thru to hands like I’ve had others do. If you work outside and want to wear gloves and still have dexterity once these are broken in you’ll like. Will buy again.

meh. Better gloves for less at Sams Club
Bought these because they sounded good and I could get them fast. But they turn my hands bright yellow and the fit is odd. Very wide across my palms. Found a great set of 2 pairs leather gloves at Sams club for less than this pair and they are wonderful quality. Don’t recommend these gloves from Amazon.

You're going to get what you pay for with these gloves
These cowhide work gloves are part durable, part comfortable. If you're looking for a *super* hardy leather work glove that will last for years then this isn't the glove for you. If you buy new work gloves every year then these are hard to beat. First, they are super comfortable right from the start. Second, they are pretty durable for most every type of yard work, field work, and wood splitting type jobs. However, they don't seem to be water proof, they stretch, and they're a bit on the thin side. What they are is comfortable and durable for a year's worth of hard work. That's why I buy a new pair every year. And put 'em on my Christmas list too. Highly recommended.

Sharp inner seam!
Appears to be a well made glove EXCEPT that the wrist pull cord which is sewn into the seam on the inside of the glove and then melted on the ends is razor sharp against your wrist! Since it was cut so close to the seam there is no way to fix it unless maybe if you put a piece of very thick tape across it. I am returning them.
