Great knife overall
I'm pretty picky about kitchen knifes. Over the years I've collect many knifes in the kitchen and still haven't settled with my favorite one. Recently one of my friends recommended this Paudin 8" chef's knife. From the picture, I like the wood grain design etched on the blade, which makes it so unique. So I decided to give it a try. The $25.99 price tag (after a$10 coupon, maybe they're running a promotion?) is very reasonable, so it won't go wrong even if it is not as good as I expected. Well, this product acctually really exceeded my expectation when I received it and got hold to it.Its weight gives me very nice solid feel, but not too heavy. The blade and handle are very well balanced. The handle is smooth and very comfortble to hold. The edge feels so sharp to the touch, so I decided to test it. I put a stack of 20 pages of printer paper and tried to slice cut a half inch corner off. To my surprise, I didn't have to do a slicing motion, just press down and the stack of paper got cut through eazily. That's really beyond my expection. I then used it to cut meat and veggie. The knife felt so sharp making all the cutting so eazy. And the curve of the edge feels just right. Well, there is only one minor issue with this product, same as all the knife that I have, the back of the knife is square and clean. But I have a habbit to press on the back of the knife during cutting, especially the closer to the handle part. I would like a knife that has rounded edge at the back near the handle, though I haven't seen one so far.I don't normally write a product review, unless I really like or really hate the product. This time is the former, have to share the good experience with people. To summarize, this is well made kitchen knife with high quarlity. I will use it as my main kitchen knife now. Will see how long it will keep this sharp.

Sharp as hell, just buy it, you won’t be disappointed!
This knife is sharp, it almost feels like a razor blade! We have owned a lot of different knives in our time including a set of the famous German kitchen knives and nothing else has been this sharp and well balanced period. I started out buying this blade for my son as a thank you for helping me with some chores around the house; well, after it came and I opened it up to check it out, I was amazed at the quality and out of the box sharpness of this knife, so I immediately ordered a second one for me.I absolutely love and recommend this chefs knife to everyone who appreciates a good blade, yes I hand wash and dry it because it is carbon steel and needs care but I think you will find it to be an absolute perfect addition to your kitchen tools.

Get one, you will not be disappointed.
Nicely balanced chef knife at excellent price!I am a knife guy, and I really appreciate the quality of this knife. It is well finished, balanced and sharp out of the box. I put a finer edge on it and did some immediate chopping. Excellent results. I recommend.

Keeps its edge
I've had this knife a couple of years now, and it's still sharp despite my forgetting to sharpen it. I do care for it well, and over all it's a great knife. The wood on the handle has started to splinter, which is my only complaint. Over all, a great knife.

My favorite kitchen chef knife
I've been using this knife regularly for the past 3 months, and it's still just as sharp as the day I got it. Everything about this knife is right:• As I said, it's extremely sharp and doesn’t get dull.• The weight is perfect — not too heavy, not too light.• The handle is made from quality wood, feels great in the hand, and doesn't slip. I also have similar knives with metal or plastic handles, and the difference is huge — this one feels much better.• The length and shape of the blade are ideal for comfortable, precise cutting. This is now my go-to knife in the kitchen. I use it almost every day.

Worth your time and money
Great knife. Sharp edge, and balanced very nicely. Definitely worth the price.

Solid Cheap Knife
I did a lot of research on knives before I committed to this one. I am not ready for a Wusthof (German metal, high in carbon, doesnt get quite as sharp, but can cut through bone without chipping) or a japanese blade (vg10 or similar Japanese not Chinese, gets super sharp, but hard to keep an edge, not suitable for hard materials). So, I met in the middle with a very inexpensive blade that is suitable for the home chef. The blade was/is pretty sharp, I have not sharpened it yet and have had it for a few months. Just like any knife, a good honing after the blade has been used for a while and before each use from then on along with a once or twice a year honing and i think this thing will perform nicely. It is beautiful, light, easy to handle, and makes light of prep work. Also, I have been seeing a lot of youtubers start using this knife in their kitchen as well. What else do you want from a 25 buck blade eh?Pros:- Full Heel- Forged Steel- High Carbon Hardened German Steel- Full Tang Construction- Lightweight- BeautifulCons:- Forged Steel? Doubtful, for a knife that is only $25. I have no real way to determine if it is stamped or forged (or both), but it does have a full tang, which is what I wanted.- The Steel recipe is likely a Chinese spin-off of a German recipe. Ingredient quality may vary.- No SheathI'll say it again:For the price, this knife is a great performer, and if you take care of it and regularly sharpen it, it can be the daily driver for any home chef without the crazy price tag of much better quality knives. By no means is it low quality, but it just isn't up to the standard of a really good chef knife.- No Rust (I always hand wash)- No Chipping of the blade (I separate chicken all the time.. but I don't try and cut anything really dense)
