I bought this to keep my guitar feedback under control when playing live with a cranked amp. Works great!

I bought this noise gate hoping it would save me from having to do a 4 cable method w/ the G-String. It does little to nothing to stop the hiss in the amp if you running high gain or fuzz based pedals; which is really the only reason you'd need a noise gate. If you getting excessive noise from you amp running clean and/or without pedals then you really need to change your tubes. You're amp is dying. Don't waste you money on this pedal. The ONLY noise gate on the market I've found that actually works is the ISP Decimator and ISP Decimator G-String. I'd sell my MXR Noise gate, but I'd feel bad about selling to someone else knowing how bad it sucks. I'll probably just give it away for science.

I tried using this to gate the fuzz noise when I use distortion but it will either gate too much and let noise through when I'm playing or not gate at all

this thing is a piece of junk. been busy and missed the return window by 2 days....going to junk it on craigslist...worst noise gate i've ever used...avoid at all costs....a 30 dollar donner will serve you better then this. get a decimator or zuul if you want a real noise gate.
