Good Quality for the Price
This flute was purchased to replace a rental. The rental has been used for a year @ $20 a month. The pads needed to be replaced on the rental and I did not want to pay $160 for upkeep that I felt should be included. We are into one month of using the new flute with no complaints. The end attachment was difficult to attach/detach to begin with. My daughter can now attach/detatch with no assistance. Hopefully this flute will last long term or at least last her flute interest. I will up date as we go.

Good sound
Good deep sound. Compared with my Armstrong. High notes are a little tricky in general on flute but this one can do it fine.

Reviewed As a 'Beginner' Flutist, But Otherwise Experienced Musician
I've played guitar the longest and most consistently, but in my life I have learned to play Trumpet, Bass, Banjo, Violin, Dulcimer, Piano/Keyboard, Ocarina, Harmonica, Xaphoon, LittleSax, Fipple Flutes (tin-whistles and records), Dong Xiao (a type of Chinese flute), Didgeridoo, your stereotypical drum-kit, and the list goes on... - all of that to say that I've been learning and playing a wide variety of instruments over the last 25 years or so. Lately I've been obsessed with getting into and playing wind instruments again, but I've never had the opportunity to play a transverse concert flute like this - it is my first keyed flute, and my first experience using such an instrument; I have no instructor - just myself, time, and a ton of free learning resources. That said - I am very pleasantly surprised at the quality that is offered for such a complicated instrument at this price point. It seems ludicrous to me. All of the keys operate smoothly, and all of the pads seal completely - no squeaks or squawks to be heard when blown properly. The head and foot fit snuggly as they should. The finish is highly polished and reflective - I have found no obvious flaws with the flute at this point. Tuning was achieved with just a few millimeters of adjustment on the head; I've only bothered to test the lower register, but every note has played spot on. The case is very nice, and the cleaning cloth and rod to wipe out spittle is greatly appreciated. If you're like me, an older adult who loves to collect, learn, and play all sorts of instruments, or if you're an adult looking to get a flute for a child, I believe this is a really good starter option. Unlike CHEAP guitars, this INEXPENSIVE flute is probably as good as it gets at such a low price point (again, it seems ludicrous to me) - and there is definitely a difference between CHEAP and INEXPENSIVE; this is NOT a cheap flute - it has been very playable and seems to have a decent tone/timbre. I look forward to spending dozens, if not hundreds of hours playing this flute. I would highly recommend this for anyone who is on a budget and curious about learning the concert flute.

Good for a beginner
This seems to be a very complete set for beginners. The case includes a full cleaning and care kit. The flute itself was very carefully wrapped and packed. I play other instruments and have more experience with woodwind instruments. I have played other types of flutes (think very basic). I was excited to try and learn on a real flute. I am by no means qualified to judge the sound quality because I don't think I make quality sounds at this stage. This is certainly a user issue. All of the parts fit together well and move smoothly. There are no visible defects.

Amazing
This flute is of incredible quality for its price. While the product description says over and over it is for beginners or kids, I think that speaks mostly to the entry-level price point than anything else. I am not a flautist (looking to learn, hence the beginner flute), so I can't say with 100% certainty, but this flute looks identical to the several hundred dollar flutes I saw back in high school band. I'm sure an expert would be able to tell a difference in sound quality or materials, but for a beginner, this is an EXCELLENT starting point.

Nice flute but didn't come with everything listed
I received this flute. The case is nice and small. I wish there were instructions because at first I didn't see all these pieces of spongy stuff under some of the keys preventing them from moving, thus making the flute not work correctly. The sound is pretty good for a beginner flute. Mine did not come with a tuning fork but did come with the cleaning kit. There were also no additional information about the contents within the case. For the price it is OK but it would have been nice to get the tuning fork to see where the head piece needs to be placed to make sure the flute doesn't play too sharp.
