Dr. Elsey'scleanprotein Duck & Turkey Recipe Wet Cat Food (Case of 24), 2.75 oz Canned Food

My cats like this, but I do have to empty can onto plate mash with fork and add more moisture (water1/8 to 1/4 cup per 2.75 oz can) to it or they won't eat it. I tried it out of can without adding moisture and they would not eat it.

This food is great and my cats love it, but Amazon keeps sending the wrong variety. It's hit or miss... Maybe half of the time I get Duck, which is what I ordered. The other half of the time they send whatever they feel like sending, like Beef or Turkey. One of my cats is allergic to most proteins so I can't just feed him the other varieties. This has to be getting expensive for Amazon, as they have to refund it each time. I'll be getting this from Chewy from now on.

This used to be the consistency of a pate until the company had to switch manufacturers. The new manufacturer is losing points with loyal shoppers but I have figured out smashing the food with some water brings it back to life and my cat eats it. Desperate times call for desperate measures when this is the only wet food my cat will eat.

My cat suffered with bladder stones and was on medication to get rid of them. The vet recommended Royal Canin Food for Urinary Tract Health. But my kitty wouldn’t touch it. She just smelled it and walked away.I did my research and discovered that Dr. Elsey’s foods are developed for urinary health and to reduce hairballs. I’ve been purchasing this food for the past 4 years and no urinary issues have reoccured. My kitty is long-haired. Before feeding her Dr. Elsey’s, she frequently expelled hairballs. Now, it’s a rare occasion.Honestly, this food is expensive but it contains good quality ingredients and apparently, tastes good. If I want my cat to be happy & healthy, I will continue to feed her this brand of food.

My finicky cat wouldn't eat this, so I am going to donate it to the local humane society. I gave it 3 stars because other cats may like it.

The formula and texture of this catfood has a defect or changed for the worst. It used to be moist, smoothe pate with much broth. Now its very dry and has no broth? We barely got it out the can because of extreme dryness. This is the second time we had this issue with Dr Elsey's can food within a month. Previously the issue occurred with a case of salmon pate. There has been no mention of changes in the formulas of Dr Elsey's can food so I am not sure what is going on??? Unfortunately my cats will not eat it now so not ordering again. See attached photos.

Ol' one-orange-brain-cell is extremely picky. He loves the gravy-type foods that are mostly gravy (in pouches) but that was literally the only wet "food" he'd eat -- which, they aren't food at all, because there's no taurine in them. I bought this on a whim, and while it's drier than most similar canned foods, he loves it and finishes the entire can every day. I got Tuna flavor. I see other reviewers had mixed results, but I am really happy to have found something he'll not only eat, but seems to really enjoy AND is good for him.

It is Very hard to find canned and dry food Without ANY carbs at all. All meat no fillers at all. My baby loves this and she has been addicted to carbs. I had a little bit of water because it is a dry, however adding some water really helps it. Excellent and I will be buying this again and looking for other flavors. I have tried other freeze dried and cans and they ALL have carb additives! This does NOT!
