Directions are not straight foward, but easy enough to follow. The value is great. It's great setup for beginners or someone who isn't planning to make a large quantity quickly. Speed is variable, based on the settings you use in whichever laser engraving tool being used. I have only used it on wood so far, and I have made some great stuff, that looks clean.Attached is a recent burn I did.

After several test runs its working great. It is a learning experience getting the correct speed and power for wood I was engraving.

The media could not be loaded. Works well but needs better cable management. Sometimes the cables get caught between the laser head and the frame causing issues.

My first laser and glad I bought an Outur laser. Very easy to put together and well-built for an inexpensive price. I own a CNC machine and using this for more detail work on my projects and putting my logo on the back. I recommend this machine for anyone just starting out with their first laser.

The “instructions” for assembly are terrible. Also they did not match my product nor did the ones online so now I have to wait until customer service contacts me to see how to assemble and actually use the product.

The media could not be loaded. After researching numerous laser engraving companies, I settled for Ortur LM2S3 laser engraver. I’m extremely satisfied at its performance and ease of use. I’d advise to get to know Lightburn software and making projects is satisfying. Most importantly, I received follow up messages from Ortur customer support, in particular Lynn, to verify I was satisfied with my product. Her messages has definitely provided me with assurance that Ortur cares and stands behind their products. I even purchased Ortur rotary unit and I’m having fun!! Again thanks Lynn for the follow up!Follow up service is great! I reached out to Lynn and my replacement part was promptly answered! Definitely great service. Thanks again Lynn!!

Once the machine is assembled, adjusted and running properly, I would give it 5 starts. BUT... when I first put it together the automatic movement was erratic and rough. If could never reach the home position without stalling. Pushing the head around by hand showed some rough spots and was very stiff. Was just about ready to send it back, but I decided to try loosening the four bottom rollers on the Y-axis rails. That fixed it. Instructions are adequate but could be better. I also like the built-in safety feature that turns off the laser if the head doesn't move for about 30 seconds.

I purchased this laser 10 months ago. It was my first laser and I knew next to nothing. While it did take awhile to assemble (there's video instructions somewhere on YouTube that helped a lot), once I got it together and started learning Lightburn, I was able to go from a complete novice to kind of knowing what I was doing relatively quickly. Over the next year I kept practicing and progressed to making keepsake boxes that I sell!What prompted me to write this review, however, was that my laser stopped working on Christmas day. I went to power it on and the control board started smoking. I unplugged it and contacted Ortur customer service, not expecting to hear back for awhile due to the holidays and the fact that their website said they would have limited customer support until the first week in January. To my surprise I got a response the next day! Customer service was straight and to the point. Within a few days they had determined the motherboard was the problem and agreed to send me a new one under the one year warranty. It was coming from China, and I was advised it could take over a month with regular shipping, and a few weeks with expedited. I chose expedited, expecting to pay at least $20. Instead, they didn't charge me at all and I received my replacement motherboard in 4 DAYS! From China! I am extremely impressed with Orturs customer service, especially during the Christmas/New Years week. My replacement motherboard is installed and my laser is up and running again!I recommend this product on it's merit alone, with a bonus being phenomenal customer service. Thank you Ortur!
