Thank you!
Living in the deep south, after installing a new kitchen exhaust fan the down-draft from the attic was overwhelming. Especially since kitchen exhaust fans are located right over the stove and it is canning season! This item is wonderful. There is no more down-draft at all and combined with my wonderful new exhaust fan my kitchen is comfortable again. At least as comfortable as it can be when I am canning in the summer time in the deep south ;) Great product, shipping time was fast, installation was easy. Thank you!

Perfect for stove hood
I bought a new house and the builders didn't install a damper so in the winter I could feel cold air coming in at my stove. This was easy to install just removed a spacer from the existing exhaust pipe and put this in. All the cold air stopped this is exactly what I was missing.

Works but spring is weak
This damper works, but the spring is very weak. If you tip it anywhere past horizontal the doors fall open, so it can only be installed with the doors facing up or horizontally. Additionally if the doors open all the way to the center, the springs are not strong enough to push them closed again. I haven't run into an issue with this yet, but just noticed during the installation and will need to check at some point to make sure they are not stuck open.

Easy to install and sturdy quality
I am was able to install the draft blocker in less than 15 minutes. The interior mechanics has a strong rubber seal to prevent air coming in. Great product.

Quiet
Had a bathroom exhaust fan flapper that made crazy amounts of noise when windy outside. I took that dampener off right at the fan and went outside to install this metal dampener right at the output under the fascia. The bird screen was the same tube size so a little duck tape and reattaching the flex duct to the dampener did the trick. Since then, haven't had an issue with sound. There's still a small amount of chilly air that comes back but much better than the previous setup. Other users tried using tape to seal the center and I tried when I bought it too, however I failed at that and just installed as is. So far so good 1 month after install during the middle of winter.

It’s slightly larger than 12” duct.
It came with a slight bent in the corner of the flap. It was easy enough to flatten back out so I was not that concerned. As can be seen in the second photo it is about 12.25 inches inside diameter. It’s actually a metric size. Since I had nothing that could take up that much space with crimps I actually put weather stripping around the collars I slipped inside and attached my screws through everything together being careful not to impede the dampers. It’s been in place 10 months and is still working ok. I ran a bead of caulk around the outside rim to seal it as best I could. It didn’t fit but I made it work. I seemed well made just not for 12in duct.

Easy assembly
When my contractor put in my new rangehood, they didn’t put in a draft blocker because the range didn’t come with one. So I did this myself and it was super easy and therefore I am immensely impressed. It seems to work as I don’t get any Backdraft and my house is no longer losing a lot of extra heat.

Second one I bought , love it
Product works well. This is the second one I bought and replaced all the plastics ones I bought in the past that sometimes get stuck allowing cold air back in. Highly recommend

Quieter Back draft prevention.
Plastic ones are light but noisy in high winds. This seems well damped and with a soft surface. Quiet.
