Good fit
Like most things not exact fit however a tad larger - looks nice.

Sturdy
These post caps are nice and thick - maybe 2 mm. The photo shows them as they are in reality. I painted mine in the summer, and so far the paint has held just fine over a rainy Pacific Northwest winter. I'm very happy.

Considering my lack of skills, this product looks good installed. The size, as advertised, was correct. It is a snug fit on the 4x4 posts. I first sprayed the caps with a primer/etch for aluminum. I then brushed on a solid stain, making sure the lip around the base was covered. I primed the screws to match. To attach, I drilled pilot holes so as not to split the posts more than they were already. The screws are large and long, sufficient to hold the caps in place. Last, I painted the screw heads to match the post caps. They look great and we expect them to last as they are aluminum and prepped to retain the solid stain. I am ordering another 4x4 set, a 6x6 set and a 4x6 set to match the new post caps.

Caps discoloring after 2 days of rain ?
Easy to install - precise measuring on pieces -But after 2 days of rain they look as if I have had them 2-3 years why are they discoloring?Dark smudging marks ? Durability unknown ?Should I have picked a color instead ?
